mothergoose
A couple of local dads are launching a new food service delivering freshly prepared healthy dinners which you just need to finish off in under 10 minutes. 11 years ago my husband co-founded www.chopd.co.uk, London's leading salad bar chain. This year he co-founded www.tritto.com delivering delicious meals to your door. Trite is currently piloting in the wider East Dulwich area. Do please join the pilot to try a free sample meal and to give much appreciated feedback. Register at www.tritto.com. Thanks! adsyb99
Website looks good and definitely an interesting concept. Trying it out tomorrow. Only bit of feedback I have thus far is it isn't clear if the meals are for 1 or 2 people. Good luck! Vick
Had our first Tritto meal delivered last night - salmon, coconut rice and mango salsa, delicious, and very easy to 'finish off'. Will definitely order again when don't feel like cooking or as an alternative to a traditional take away Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/60871-chef-prepared-home-cooking-ed-pilot/#findComment-861965 Share on other sites
mothergoose
Excellent! I'm glad you think it is a good idea Vicks.I got my 16 year old and two of her friends to do all the Tritto meals last night and they loved it. The friends told me they would rather have Tritto than pizza which is saying something! Cedges
Whilst the food was very nice, I found it to be a little bit more than 'finishing off' ie. 'cooking'. I've got the skills to marinate some salmon and cook some rice myself so I probably won't use the service again - if i'm going to splash out on a delivery, I don't really want to be doing a full set of washing up to be honest. I think for folk with money and who are less adventurous a cook than myself, this will probably work quite well but for me, i think i'm ok without. My other, hopefully more constructive feedback would be:1) Cooking instructions really need to be inside the box, I didn't appreciate having to run around to find my phone charger to charge my dead phone to log onto the website to be able to start cooking, when starving.2) It would be helpful if there was a warning before ordering if a microwave is required. The rice required nuking and I don't have one...I do wish you every luck, I just don't think this particular service is for me at this time. cella
The food was excellent on the trial with minimum finishing required. Will definitely order again on treat nights. It certainly bridges the gap between takeouts where you just want to eat immediately and cooking from scratch. The only minor points I would make is that if it were non trial I would expect the food to be delivered close to anticipated time or a phone call. I would also find it helpful to have emails, voice mails etc answered. These are problems which can easily be resolved I'm sure. mothergoose
Thanks very much for the feedback Cedges. really helpful.Yes Tritto is targeting people eating at home wanting a better alternative to a takeout for a similar price and with similar convenience. the pan cook range - like the salmon, coconut rice and mango salsa - is the higher effort of the dish options, but can still make a really quick and impressive supper in less than 10 minutes, which is hard to do from scratch. ready to eat salads and microwaveable times are much faster and simpler, ready in a minute or three. (and all microwaveable items are starting to include options for people who prefer not to microwave.)The Tritto website is still in development, and will feature more visual cooking instructions, including video. Printed instructions will also be an option. Not a problem at all that this was not for you. really appreciate the time taken to feed this back, which I will pass on.
