Who cares if he's an astute businessman. Is this some sort of crime?

I personally would not use him to move, because his service provided obviously does not cover my needs, i.e. helping shift and carry. What you want for that is a removal firm, not a man and van. He is pretty much doing what it/he/the van says on the tin. You can't even pursue him for false advertising. but if you pay cheap, you pay twice. Or at least end up doing much of the grunt work yourself.

Who on earth trusts their removals to someone charging this little anyway? If you do, you should expect the worst.

BTW, I'm not defending the quality of his service, just his right to park legally and go about his business. As long as he does within the confines of the law, even if it somewhat of a passive annoyance to a few.

I've seen 4 or 5 of these vans around - they're not all the same type of van, and there are differences in the wobbly paint on the sides (so ner, Annaj and Honaloochie). I quite enjoy spotting them around the place.

I can understand how sometimes a particular eyesore can get under your skin, Goose Green, but really in South London is this the Thing Wrong that you choose to get upset about?

    • Quote "it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me." Doesn't say clearly that it tried to bite you , but instead implies that you had the impression, right or wrong that it wanted to nip you.  unless you are clear others will read it how you write it.  As for being a jobsworth, what a quaint old expression, haven't heard that for a long while.
    • Crook locks can be sawn through, or the steering wheel to which it is attached, I know to my own cost. The safest additional security measure is what's called a ghost immobiliser, which cannot be traced through the car's electronics, meaning it is difficult to bypass. They cost a bomb however.
