Agree. Incredibly consistent too. I try different places now and again but always return to EC. H

Have to disagree big time about Omrith. The worst Indian meal you have ever had? Week in week, week out, it has maintained a high standard for us for a few years now.

Think they may have had a change of ownership a few months back, but honestly don't feel it has affected the quality at all.

Each to his/her own and all that, but we love it.

Used to use Swadesh a few years back. It was always 'different' than other Indian restaurants.

Went last weekend for the first time in ages.

Dreadful. I had Chicken Vindaloo. The chicken was good but the sauce was terrible.

It was just a watery oily sauce(and I like oily sauces)with chilly powder & ground cumin.

Greasy poppadoms , thin tasteless onion bhajis...

Well they no longer sell alcohol and you cannot take your own.

No wonder they have no sit in customers.

Shame really..

We tried Village Tandoori takeaway on East Dulwich Grove for the first time the other week and it was very good ? fresh and flavoursome. 20% off for collection too. We normally go to Dulwich Tandoori when we eat in (or Ganapati for special occasions), but Village Tandoori will become our regular takeaway.

    • The SSRS app (Safer seas and rivers service), is worth downloading. It gives you real time updates on water safety / sewage discharges. It's pretty eye opening / alarming, how regularly areas are not safe, but reassuring when you do get the 'all clear'.
    • The programme was brilliant and makes me wary now of sea paddling as so many areas affected. My daughter was working at a bank when privatisation of utility companies were floated. Bank advised its staff that only x number of shares could be purchased by individuals as Government rules at that time. She reported that certain people were seeking double and triple shares. Bank told her to ignore the guidelines as those customers had thousands of pounds in the bank. She was so disgusted at the banks attitude she handed in her notice, She decided that the financial world was too corrupt. Two degrees later - she now works in the NHS as an OT in mental health unit.
