I'm not sure what a T Brown van is but if you know who the company are then surely they will have a log of which drivers were in your area at the time you were hit? Shouldn't take long for them to narrow down their list and speak to some of the drivers to find out who it was and discipline them for not stopping after an accident. Perhaps write a letter of complaint to the Managing Director?
It is an offence to leave the scene of an accident without swapping insurance details. One tactic could be to call the company back, tell them that they must know where their drivers are and so must be able to identify this driver. Plus the van will have paint from your car on it and so will be easy to identify. Tell them that you are giving them the option of sorting this out in a civilised way so that insurance companies can pay up, otherwise you'll call the police and report their driver, who has committed a criminal offence, as will the company if they lie to the police and pretend they aren't able to identify who it was.
I am with Legal Beagle on this one. Take the hard line. The notion that they don't know who it might have been is ridiculous and there is bound to be clear damage on the vehicle in question. They are just trying to pass the buck and I would nail them to the wall if I was you.

trouble?

Hold on before we start legal proceedings, and I?m sure the lawyers a gagging to get going on this.

Is there any actual paint damage?

What does BG mean by there?s no serious damage?

Could this be like a 1mph bump, bumper to bumper?

Like a parking bump resulting in no actual damage?

BG?

Thanks for all the info on what I should do, but feeling much more calmer about it now.

Just had a bad couple of months I'm wondering if Mars is in retrograde!

About two/three weeks ago my stereo was stolen, then this jerk smashes my wing mirror almost shoving me into parked cars.

Peckham Rose I mentioned that I thought he came from Rye Hill but the officer manager claims that he may have been a lewisham driver, What goes around comes around I hope!

You probably need independent witness if you want to get your insurance excess back and avoid it showing up as a fault claim tho.

    • This is a remarkable interpretation of history. Wikipedia (with more footnotes and citations than you could shake a shitty stick at sez: The austerity programme was initiated in 2010 by the Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government. In his June 2010 budget speech, Osborne identified two goals. The first was that the structural current budget deficit would be eliminated to "achieve [a] cyclically-adjusted current balance by the end of the rolling, five-year forecast period". The second was that national debt as a percentage of GDP would fall. The government intended to achieve both of its goals through substantial reductions in public expenditure.[21] This was to be achieved by a combination of public spending cuts and tax increases amounting to £110 billion.[26] Between 2010 and 2013, the Coalition government said that it had reduced public spending by £14.3 billion compared with 2009–10.[27] Growth remained low, while unemployment rose. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_government_austerity_programme From memory, last time around they were against the LTNs and competing with the Tories to pick up backlash votes - both failed. They had no counterproposals or ideas about how to manage congestion or pollution. This time around they're simply silent on the matter: https://www.southwark-libdems.org.uk/your-local-lib-dem-team/goosegreen Also, as we have seen from Mr Barber's comments on the new development on the old Jewsons yard, "leading campaigns to protect the character of East Dulwich and Goose Green" is code for "blocking new housing".

    • Revealing of what, exactly? I resurrected this thread, after a year, to highlight the foolishness of the OP’s op. And how posturing would be sagacity is quickly undermined by events, dear boy, events. The thread is about Mandelson. I knew he was a wrong ‘un all along, we all did; the Epstein shit just proves it. In reality, Kinnock, Blair, Brown, Starmer et all knew as well but accepted it, because they found him useful. As did a large proportion of the 2024 intake of Labour MPs who were personally vetted and approved by Mandelson.
