"I?ll make a note of that for my next purchase after I?ve paid off the electric coffee stirrer."

Don't jump the gun Brendan old scout. In the early nineties I dismissed an advert describing the dental bliss provided by an electric toothbrush. She now sits next to my 'airbrush' for when the mirror can't hide the future.

I have a incipio one that just slots on the back bit so only adds about 1mm on but I have now stopped lobbing my phone around accidentally so definitely worth it. It was about ?8 on amazon I think.

Good question SP. Mines robust but a but heavy and hogly as hail!! Need to replace it (though judging by the chipped corners and hefty cracks, it has served its purpose well!!)

I reckon the light leather one should stop stuff breaking and screens cracking and keep the weight down.

Well ( lean in here so no one else can hear this ) I ordered two i-phones one each for LadyW**F & myself, yes one black & one white.

I then purchased a Belkin silicon cover in black from CarPhoneWHS , it also came with frosted/clear cover FOC, which on the white phone does look rather fetching in a kind of "Ice queeny" way

Not that i'm unhappy with the Black "boy" look, no but it does look a bit "practical"

So some nights I strip it naked and stare at its shiny bits, Oh as you do

Is this to be what you might call 'a modern valentines day gift'?

Oh my God.. you're not getting them engraved are you?!!

I just checked.. as it happens, Apple only engrave iPods.

Apparently they can't do iPhones because they are made from a different material which is non-engrave-friendly. I can't comment on the warranty issue of engraving your iPhone yourself. Except to say that if you do engrave it, you probably deserve not to have one.

That said, if you are thinking of engraving, I suggest going with 'to the love of my life' or similar - so you can transfer it to the next love of your life, if need be.

I had a bone shaped dog tag purchased from an auto vend machine in the pets shop in Sydenham Road ( which in it's self was fascinating ) with my details engraved on it & attached to my last phone

Rattled nicely when you spoke to people

Thought I'd "share" that with you

(oh, how bloody sad my life has become )

Yes indeede

    • 🤣  After a horrible very long day at work I came home..read this post and laughed out loud....thank you! We made the error of visiting the one in Dulwich just after it opened...you missed nothing. I dont mind paying a bit more for something decent but honestly it was one of the most underwhelming badly cooked meals I've eaten,  with an accompnayment of awful muzak and dire dire service . really overpriced too I agree.
    • But you started this thread back in 2023 James! You must have known this site would be going ahead? Now you’re saying 12-18 months.
    • Such developments typically have 6-18months resolving all the conditions imposed on the approve scheme. While this going on they'll be lining up the constructions contractors, project management, etc. I'd guess 12-18months time.
    • this makes me realise how the world has changed...in the 90's I lived in Chelsea which you'd assume was a pretty safe neighbourhood..One night someone stole my beautiful and heavy  (they were made of stone or concrete) fully planted windowboxes from my windowsills..I lived in a raised ground floor flat with a pretty steep drop to the basement, They must have climbed over the railings on the stairs and onto the sill then passed them to an accomplice..Impossible to do this solo. They also stole a beautiful stone owl that I had on the sill. I reported the theft to the police-this was the days before ring doorbells etc-they came filed a report and description of the stolen goods AND I got a letter and phone call from victims support!
