No no Petunia, stick around. The Darjeeling is to die for and we could do with some new curtains if you're up for it.

New curtains??well, you've got a nerve, young man.

It's not as if I don't have enough to do, oh no. I've already had to do two lots of shoppin on Evelina this morning on account of now I have to do Mrs Bunce's after all that nasty business she had with Ayres the Bakers..well course all the shops won't let her in now apart from the opticians and the Great Wall, so now see I says I'll do it for you love, cos I can't let the poor love starve, now can I, and I had to nip into William Hills for her as well, and all told with a couple of breaks at the bus stop for a Rothmans, the whole thing's taken me two and a arf hours.

Then of course I've got to take Snoopy down the dog exercise on the Green, that'll be another hour, then there's Mr B's lunch, then, like he says, "Doctors" won't watch itself, now will it?

So no, young man, I'm afraid you're going to have to find someone else to do your curtains *sniffs*

...mind you I did have a peek round the door of that there Quiet Room.

Blimey! Think that could do with a proper Deep Clean.

By the sounds of it there's plenty of you round here with a bit of time on your hands. you could busy yourselves with that instead of wasting time on ere all day

*tsk*

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
