Welcome to our area! I live in Nutbrook St just over the roofs of Amott Rd. We are a special enclave, not Peckham nor East Dulwich nor Peckham Rye, but right between all three. It was a big local secret till the East Dulwich Forum was invented and people started to tell their stories about it! When you are settled in, I'd love to come and meet your fostered cats, and talk to you about the cat fostering. Can you PM me so I can explain my interest and set up email contact?

i just moved to ondine road about 3 months ago and am really happy there! i was also a little worried as moved from a v v safe bit of clapham, but am absolutely loving it. have had no hassles at all (tho admittedly if its after 10 i would prob take a taxi from peckham rye station) and i just love the way this area is a real mix of people (after all the hoorah henrys of clapham with their generic ysl polo tops tucked into chinos :)) Neighbours are particularly lovely and helpful. Gowlett serves a good pint and amazing pizza. Enjoy!

Can you believe it? The landlord of our place now has emailed offering to let us stay! However, we emailed him 4 weeks ago and when he didn't reply we put down a deposit on the Keston Rd house - plus, everyone's been so lovely about Keston Rd that we're actually looking forward to moving there.

However, it does mean that I have to give up fostering cats so if anyone can help with offering a foster home for any RSPCA cats that would be fantastic - I have 2 lovely ladies at the mmoment, Tuppence and Moley, black and white and fantastic. We also have Mousey, a gorgeous, long haired tortoiseshell and white 15yr old who we love to bits. Please let me know!

thanks

Hi I live on Adys Road (just round the corner) and really like it here. Been here almost a year and haven't witnessed any crime in the area yet. Close to PR station and also close to tescos... can't complain.

morning all,

further to this topic: i am interested in a property in the bellenden area of peckham, on nigel road. now i know the topic of Bellenden has been covered a few times before on this forum, but some of the forums replies by members appear quite a few years old now, and i wanted more 'up-to-date' feedback if i may? now i realise some of you will say its great, and equally some of you will say its not but what i wanted was more specific information on the nigel road/relf road area, or should i dare to say "east bellenden", lol? i trust my instincts and i really like how it looks, but i have heard rumours of some of the roads around there being used as rat runs - what are your thoughts?

Some of the roads there are cut throughs particularly Nigel Road, Nigel Road itself is not bad house-wise but another consideration is you may have trouble parking as it's pay and display and often very fully parked

    • Friend recommends Penge Cycle Club.  Southwark Cyclists usually do two social cycle rides on Saturday, you don't need to be a member (London Cycling Campaign) but recommended.  They are advertised on the What's On section of EDF. And you can go on their other Borough group rides, Lewisham Cyclists often do long rides. Generally very cycle friendly around here, despite occasional on line hostility.

    • This Italian restaurant at the Southbound Goose Green bus stop on Lordship Lane is excellent but doesn't seem to get much custom, especially at lunchtimes - a sad indictment of East Dulwich society.  If it were in Camberwell/Peckham (where I used to live) it would be rammed. If we don't want Lordship Lane full of chains, then good quality independent family places need custom.
