R&A
Anyone know how long these road works are due to go on for? There's no yellow sign saying 'for x no. of weeks'I had enjoyed walking the remainder of my journey into work in recent weeks, until it started raining...Should i switch to the crowded ED trains instead? Jeremy
The ED trains are crowded, but you can always get on. They have been realiable recently too (famous last words). It is far, far preferable to the bus in my opinion. Ted Max
KKel, Defender of the Buses, Guardian of the Bell, Queen of the Top Deck. In Omnibus Confidimus. I took a 176 into town at 9:30 last Wednesday, and the buses were nose to tail from Elephant to Waterloo. All the way. Completely chocca. You could have walked from Elephant to the Old Vic on the roofs of the buses. onvisa
ED trains are always way to crowded and you cant always get on them especially the 0751 and 0814 to London Bridge.Stick to the bus or buy an umbrella! Much more reliable! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7048-176-bus-fom-ed-to-town-waterloo-gridlock/#findComment-225288 Share on other sites
KalamityKel
oh please stop it I'm not used to such worship! :-$Well, I shall keep that in mind whenever I get the bright idea to bus hop into town.I shouldn't think it could last much longer if it's already been some weeks surely? cherrybear
I have been taking the 0751 train for a long time. I can always get on the train. You just need to walk a little bit further to the end of the platform. Tolly
I'm not sure which road you're referring to (not very good with road names and numbers) but http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/local/londoncentral.shtml lists roadworks and has a start and end date so perhaps this will tell you - if the roadworks you're referring to are listed - when they're due to finish. Ko
Would these roadworks affect the no 12 route into town? I was hoping to get the 12 from town back to ED tomorrow afternoon. Nero
I got the 176 to Aldwych on W'day and spend a good ten minutes in a jam on Waterloo Road just near to the Old Vic. If you want to find out what is going on, ring 020 8636 8822 (Conway).
