Fox, if you post on all the threads relating to something you haven't done, I'm sure January will end very quickly. There's probably rich pickings in the Family Room.

I simply do not have the time to post on all the threads relating to something I haven't done.

I'm too busy NOT posting on all the threads relating to things that I have done.

If you get my drift.. :)

Fox(y)

Thanks Philly. Compliments will get you everywhere. Which Philly is that? We have a few Phils. I'm on holiday in Vietnam and back this weekend. I hope you've all been behaving. Let me buy you a cheeky drink when I get back.

Mark :)

Oh by the way

Last week of our January sale! 50% off food Monday to Thursday!!!! Mention this post for the discount.

Catch you soon

If I still had all the helium dalmatians I've bought/been given over the years, I could probably come close :)

Except they were all called Spotty :))

ETA: Getting back on topic, we are looking forward to eating at the Cherry Tree on Thursday!

I've noticed most pubs turn on the sound (and music off)

dead on kick off - something contractual apparently - but

always miss the build up and anthems in the pub.

But then six nations sould be watched in a pub (or at the

ground) :)

If the games are on and sound is on, I'll be at Cherry Tree for Scotland game (and the rest) on 6 Feb. Join us.

My days of going to the Ground are over. Actually prefer it on the box now.

Had a very good (50% off) meal at The Cherry Tree last night ? well cooked and served up with a smile. Fair value even at the full price. We'll definitely be back to eat ? we already like the bar area and the beer selection but hadn't tried the food before.

My first visit to the New Cherry Tree last night...

Very pleasantly surprised.. Nice and cosy and warm.. Big fire in main bar .. Wood burner in back bar.. rads on..

Pleasant staff. Had an Amstel in tall Amstel glass. Not the usual thick flowerpots found elsewhere..

Food seemed reasonable priced.. Proof will be in the eating.. ?

Was very quiet for a Thursday.

They seemed to have had a problem with the Real Ale as all 4 pumps were off. :-(

Sure it will get sorted soon..

In the words of EDF speak.. 'Will defo be back.. '

DulwichFox

Glad you liked it, Foxy. Perversely, as a real ale drinker, I don't mind if they're occasionally intermittent ? by midweek any pub that's much busier at weekends will probably have a few casks that are getting too 'old' if they haven't sold out. I'd rather the manager takes them off sale than carries on serving flat stale beer - which is what happens in a number of alleged 'real ale' pubs I know.
  • 4 weeks later...

Apologies in advance moderators. This is on the what's on but were really hoping to raise as much money as we can for charity so posting on this page too.. Hope you don't mind. :)

    • There has been a number of achievements, but drowned out due to: Bloody awful comms from the government Some daft decisions and initiatives, then either digging themselves into a hole and/or turning For example the well off should not get winter fuel allowance, benefit needs to be reformed and rich farmers should not get tax breaks, but we now how all that went  Employers national insurance - money has to be raised from somewhere but that is the difficult question The image from the right wing press has now stuck, propagated by traditional and social media. And then some appalling acts of self harm. We of course all know better, but I do wonder about the competence of those advising him.
    • Left on wall outside 27 landells Rd ( end near Lordship Lane and library )
    • When did this whole “elect a govt and then change leaders as we see fit “ notion take hold ? it didn’t help the Tories and it won’t help Labour  (and why do people think they can change leaders, call new elections on a whim, but NEVER EVER talk about changing Brexit)  I dont think starmer is doing a good job. But he was elected. And the volatile electorate wanting short term fixes are part of the reason behind his ultra-cautiousness  Complaining about govt and suggesting change of direction seem fine to me. Demanding a change of leader not so much  that being said, if there was some Labour implosion and someone like Burgon was in some mad scenario made leader, then I think the electorate should be entitled to a general election. Just as it should have happened when Johnson was replaced
    • Personally, I would like to see labour do something positive for the country, unfortunately under Starmer and Reeves the opposite is true. Change of leadership.is now required, not a general election at this stage but if Starmer and Reeves stay in post then the May local elections will give Reform more power.  Now is the time for change and damage limitation , not after May when large number of reform local councillors will be voted in as a protest against this Government.
