Sue
Well as an allotment holder, I can assure you that there have been long hot sunny spells this summer!!ETA: Depends on how you define Summer, I suppose.I consider Summer as starting in May :)And I don't think you get sunburned despite wearing sunblock (as I did) in the rain. Also, you have to distinguish between the total amount of rain, and the number of days it actually rained.I agree some days have been very wet. And some have been very cold. But many have also been very hot and sunny.ETA: If memory serves, you were in Turkey during the heatwave, Fox. simonethebeaver
Regarding smaller portions, the staff at FIF have let me split one portion between two cups before. Just ask. Ms Blueberry
I would think this place has a future as the owner seems like a listener - improved service and even more improved ice cream. Today's recommendation: chocolate, chocolate hazelnut, vanilla. Peckhampam
I don't see how the ice cream could be improved. It has been amazing since day one. Or do you mean more flavours? Ms Blueberry
It seemed better than before! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/71463-new-ice-cream-shop-on-east-dulwich-road/page/2/#findComment-892890 Share on other sites
Calsug
To be honest the only improvement I can see would be staying open a bit later but realistically I doubt it could be justified as they probably don't have the same late night foot fall as LL provides Oddono's.Either way for me if I want ice cream during the day they would be my top choice. mancity68
Does anyone know if it will be open on Bank Holiday Monday? And any rough indication of opening hours? Really fancy popping up there but bit of a walk for me if its shut! MissDumpling
Definitely open tomorrow. I'd go after midday to be on the safe side. Sue
Finally found it open. The ice cream is indeed delicious, but they are putting the prices up tomorrow - I think to ?3.40 for the basic offering. Apparently the prices to date were an opening offer. One of the pleasures for me with ice cream is having a contrast of textures with something crunchy (eg a cone or meringue) and/or something smooth and runny (eg maple syrup) and I don't much like having no choice except to have the ice cream by itself in a tub, but hey ho.I'm so greedy no doubt I'll be back :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/71463-new-ice-cream-shop-on-east-dulwich-road/page/2/#findComment-894708 Share on other sites
bodsier
I agree with Miss dumplingThis place does the best ice cream, really really really good! Much much better than anywhere else, missed Scoop, and missed the Herne hill place, if this place goes, I will weap. It's not just sublime ice Creams and flavours, but an independent shop, which in itself deserves support I think. If it does succumb to making cones, the handmade ones like HERNE hill ice cream place sold would be a perfect match. In my opinion, cones just take away from the ice cream, it doesn't need cones, but I can see the benefits for the kids, and the convenience for us drivers, as I could have a sneaky in the car on the way home. Keep up the good work, and please everyone lets keep this one going, it's a gem! Jeremy
I like cones. Not sure I'll be trying the eating & driving combo though... missse22
Just had my 1st fabulous ice fires experience! Totally delish!! Pistachio was my favourite. And sampled the pinapple sorbet too! Wowza! So much better than Oddonos in my opinion. Owner seems lovely and down to earth too!!! Very reasonably priced too. Azalea
Went here on Friday. Owner said he would be getting cones in very soon. The cherry was my favourite out of the three I tried. katanita
Enjoying the gelato and prosecco for six quid offer in the sunshine. Black Pearl ice cream very tasty. Cakes look good too. Will be back. Opening hours appear to be Monday closed, rest of week 12-6.30, weekends opening 9.30 til 7pm. They said they'd open later if it was sunny and people were sticking around. Ms Blueberry
Oh my, how delicious, again. Fig, orange and caramel (the names were much fancier). Agree with Katanita as I'm definitely keen on trying ice cream and fizz. Hmmm - how's my Christmas diet doing...
