My fears about foxes attacking my cats were allayed somewhat by an incident a couple of weeks ago. I have 2 cats, one of which is semi feral and likes to be out at night, the other one preferring the comforts of home. One evening ,about 11.30, I returned home after a night out to be greeted by the two said cats who had been happy to be out together as it was a warm night. Forgot to mention that I dont have a cat flap and have to look through my glass front door to see if either cat wants entry!!! Bit tiresome but you soon get used to it!! Anyway back to the story!! I decided that I would leave the 2 cats outside a while longer while I got their late night food ready. Whilst dishing up the Felix I heard 'noises' outside. On looking through the frosted glass door I could see what looked like a coat draped along my doorstep. It then dawned on me that it was a fox!!! I kicked the inside of the door, but nothing happened. So I kicked it again!! Still nothing. So I bit the bullet and opened the front door The fox shot out of the small garden and left the 2 cats sitting outside the door looking somewhat bemused. I can only assume that they had cornered the fox without really meaning to!!! Whatever,I can rest easier now as the fox seemed more scared of the cats than I would have thought. Also I have seen my little home loving cat chasing the foxes away!! May they all live happily together.

    • Maybe they don't have space for them all in one collection?
    • Didn’t realize we needed to book collection and looks like others in street didn’t either. But I’d have thought the council could have just taken them when they come for the pre-booked instead of making several journeys.
    • Well done and thank you to you kind people for replying on here and caring about animals in distress or needing help.... im a massive fan of animals and I always try if safe to pick any dead animals up from the road after they have been run over and I bag them up and notify the council to collect them.. animals need and deserve our compassion and you people certainly have that.. hope all the foxes you have mentioned get the help they need.
    • Tawny owls are hooting in Dawsons Heights very near me. But very elusive birds. Sadly now on the amber list.
