Since I've moved back to E Dulwich I've decided that I want to do everything locally, including working. So I'm planning to give up my job in the City and open an origami paper shop on Lordship Lane. I think I will call it 'Dulwich Origami'. I'm quite good at folding a wrap for storing small items when I'm out and about so I can guess it can't be too hard to learn some other folds/shapes and then run some origami classes from the shop. I just wondering what the level of local interest might be in origami?

Well I had a couple of enquiries re: renting a room out, but my wife wasn't keen on the idea when I told her. Someone sent me a PM with good advice on how to 'unsalt' halloumi. I'm still waiting for a recommendation for servicing the Merc though - hopefully someone will know a good garage.

What happened to Bob?

Tears was actually meant to be read like 'stairs' rather than 'steers'...

I think I will call it 'Dulwich Origami'

Great idea Bob, but some work needed on that name. Here are some suggestions to get you started, with some possible USP's for your business:

- Origami hand-folded by Buddhist monks: Paperchaste

- Exotic sweets with origami wrappers: Nippon Tuck

- Japanese emporium in Peckham: SamuRye

- or your original Lordship Lane origami shop idea: Crease Dulwich

Hope that's helpful x

One letter missing --

'Dulwich OrigaSmi' --

this version should increase footfall.

Thank you - I quite like 'Crease Dulwich' as that conveys the sense of what I want to do and also captures the local zeitgeist. I've been walking up and down Lordship Lane today looking for a suitable property - I couldn't see anything - but what about North Cross Road? Would anyone go there for an origami shop?

you will all be pleased to know that I finally realised BB is a nuisance with nothing better to do than post idiotic nonsense and meaningless rhetoric. its tiresome?! no wonder normal residents refrain from posting if this is the standard, which needs raising, methinks. It isn't even funny.

    • Hi Merry Christmas no joy with that Paul Hackett email thanks
    • Miss Robson is the last of the old school independent vets. All the chains are have seriously hiked their prices over the last few years which now makes pet ownership only possible for the wealthy few. Even with pet insurance -( which often excludes items or has ‘deductibles’ ) it is just so much money. A visit with some medication is often £150 - £200. The vets themselves are excellent.
    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
