SeanMacGabhann
Who is up for a round of golf. I have no car so it has to be cab-able or someone willing to pick me upAnd I used to be ok at the game but have played about 4 times in 7 years so don't fancy my chances but still Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/721-golf-car-x-of-us-day-out/ Share on other sites
mockney piers
I know for a fact Mrs Mockney will be well up for it and has car and clubs (ickle ones), but won't be back in the country until late June sadly :( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/721-golf-car-x-of-us-day-out/#findComment-17391 Share on other sites

Keef
I'd really like to try golf one day! Never played it, but now I've realised the potential of a game that involves a nice stroll ending up in a bar!!! :)-D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/721-golf-car-x-of-us-day-out/#findComment-17443 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
Keef - you've rumbled my true rationaleSeriously tho it sounds like a few people are up for it but some of us could do with hitting a driving range for an evening first before we make fools of ourselves on a public course - So shall we pick a night for driving range practice, have a few cold drinks and then decide where and when to play properly Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/721-golf-car-x-of-us-day-out/#findComment-17476 Share on other sites
Keef
I'd be up for that Sean.... Don't want to play a proper game if I can't actually hit the ball..... Which is a distinct possibility! :-S Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/721-golf-car-x-of-us-day-out/#findComment-17487 Share on other sites
citizenED
Think that is a fine idea Sean - you don't want a foursome of rusty players and rookies out on a public course. Quite aside from being hilariously embarrassing for all concerned and taking about 6 hours to get round (not my idea of fun) it will seriously piss off the propa golfing fraternity where slow play is on par with torturing children.citizen Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/721-golf-car-x-of-us-day-out/#findComment-17488 Share on other sites

mockney piers
There's a range down anerly isn't there, fairly cheap though small and busy. Mrs Mockers and I used to go there quite a bit. I'd be well up for hitting a few balls there as I'm not sure Tiger Woods on the Wii really counts Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/721-golf-car-x-of-us-day-out/#findComment-17537 Share on other sites

spadetownboy
rugby is played by men with odd shaped balls.if you do go beckenham is the place great 18 hole course with a great club house that does decent food and more importantly adequate liquid refereshments of the abv sort. the last time i played there 2-3 yrs ago there was a bloke driving around the course in a small buggy selling drinks and snacks etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/721-golf-car-x-of-us-day-out/#findComment-17584 Share on other sites

giddygecko
Mr Sean, I know I am a newbie but are the local golf clubs all elitest members only clubs then? I believe there are 2, Aquarius & oooooh I cant remember the other one???I have never played, other than grazy golf & pitch & putt but the Mrs likes a round or two so may be interested once she arrives from Oz mid June.Cheers GG Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/721-golf-car-x-of-us-day-out/#findComment-17816 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
Hey GGI have played the Dulwich & Sydenham one (the one in the woods) - non members can pay and play during weekdays. Bit pricey and not very long or challengin but nice views across LondonA few other posters have mentions other municipal coursel in Brockley/Beckenham way I think (I'll be relying on a lift in that case)Your poor Mrs won't know what hit here when she arrives you have so much planned for her!
