Having a possible stye on my right eyelid I wanted to have a good look.I soon found that I could close my left eye and see through my right eye. But the other way around, I couldn't.Meaning I couldnt close my right eye and keep my left one open.I'm left handed. Has this something to do with it?

Try it and let's see the results.

You're sporty and like a drink?

Is this what you mean Mick? If so when would do this? Extract from Winkapedia:

Both eyes (bat/flutter)[edit]

To close and open, or "wink", both eyes is usually an involuntary action known as a "blink". Though if done intentionally, in a particular way (such as once slowly or a few times in a row quickly), while giving a sweet or suggestive look with the eyes, often with the head tilted or at an angle in combination with the shoulders, is known as to "bat an eyelash", "bat/batting eyelashes", or "flutter/fluttering eyelashes". This is most commonly done by girls, as a way of flirting, showing interest, or in an attempt to persuade the receiver.

I'm a lefty and can only do the opposite to you! (if trying to look through just one eye, can only close my right eye. My left one won't open/close independently, it's a tad frustrating).

Eh? What light Seabag?

PS The pounds certainly will be by my son. Trust you had a good trip.

Only being able to wink on one side is very common - it's linked to which is your dominant eye for 'sighting'

It's also pretty common for your dominant eye to be on the opposite side from your dominant hand; lots of right handed people find they have to shoot left-handed because they can only close their right eye.

I was pretty handy at target shooting as a kid and fancied I might have been a sniper, except I couldn't kill an ant without begging for forgiveness or more importantly keep my left eye shut.

It was a common problem in the rifle club and some of the shooters sported pirate eyepatches

Well I have learnt something today because I thought that a "wink" was only a "wink" when executed with ONE eye.

I can blink...I mean...wink with both eyes. I write with right hand, pluck eyebrows with right hand, saw branches with both right and left arm and play football with left and right foot.

    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
    • I haven't used them myself but I noticed recently that "Snoots" in Forest Hill is going unlimited primary care for £33/month, so basically a subscription. Easy access on the 176 from East Dulwich. I have no idea what it includes so read the contract! It's a chain but only 5 branches so not a mega corporate. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.snootsvet.com/find-us
