I meant it was a false economy to buy cheap steak. You knew that....

Although most psychological tests show exactly that. Tell someone it's expensive wine and they'll tell you it tastes nicer than the same wine described as ?5 a bottle plonk.

I don't even know what / where Hawksmoor is, which rather suggests it's not for the likes of me.

On the basis that even a cheapish steak will cost you ?15, worth spending ?30 at Hawksmoor and going half as often (whether that's once a month or once very few years). It is that good.

Closer to ED, tho still not really local, this place is excellent:

Actually in or near ED I'd go with Franklins, or the Palmerston.

I thought this was going to be an exciting thread about vampires in East Dulwich ...but sadly proved wrong.....

noticed tonight that the French restaurant on lordship lane does skirt steak at ?12 with chips... Maybe an option especially if marinaded well and cooked properly...

    • Maggie Browning a DH councillor recently had a baby and I believe plans to return to work. I think that to have the additional stress of  being a councillor, a new mother and having a job is a good reason for not standing again. Maggie was one of the few labour councillors who were approachable, acted on your behalf in regards to several concerns and appeared at various public events i.e Police SNT Meetings, community events etc. Have met one of the new prospective councillors and introduced her to various community based organisations.
    • Hello, I’m currently looking to buy Jellycat soft toys and LEGO sets for my children. If you have any available for sale, please feel free to message me. Thank you!
    • Useful link, thanks. I see that neither of the Dulwich Hill councillors are standing again but one of the new Labour candidates for DH recently left the Lib Dems… The Greens are led by someone who left the Lib Dems and full of people who left Labour. Reform is full of those who left the Tories. And the Tories are full of those who left our planet some time ago. Confused? You will be!
