It's great that they've got the station covered, but I can't help worrying that the rest of our border is a bit more porous.

It's about a group of teenagers in Goose Green playground who have been verbally abusive to parents/in front of small children and are causing a bit of a problem. We're all just discussing the correct approach - is this one for the Safer Neighbourhoods Team? Please can you have a look at the thread when you get a minute and advise us? Many thanks.

When that thread originally started I PM'd the poster asking if the problem had at particualr times so I could engage Park Rangers to try addressing it.

What time do you understand the problems to typically happen.

But for verbal abuse I'd call the Police non emergency number 101.

It is causing a lot of distress and has been going on for some time as you can see from the thread. Councillor attention would be most welcome I think. Thank you in anticipation.

Thanks James, I don't go often enough to know when they're usually there but I'm sure others on the thread, like Indya above, will have a view about the timings. Funnily enough I was there for several hours this morning, for the first time in ages - and they were not - and all the children were having a great time, kids who don't know each other playing together brilliantly - exactly what playgrounds should be. Do keep us posted.

Apologies if this issue has been raised before but as a resident of Barry Road it seems that there is an ever increasing amount of boy racers reaching some crazy speeds along the road. Have Speed bumps of speed cameras ever been considered?

Yes bumps and raised ramps have been considered but as a major bus route TFL oppose them. There was a raised ramp/platform at Goodrich/Barry Rd junction some years ago to reduce speed, bus crews refused to come up Barry Road

as it was too high, council had to lower it before buses resumed normal service

I'm meeting our loal Police tonight - public meeting at Christchurch 263 Barry Road 7-9pm. Please feel free to come along and tell people you want speed limits enforced.

Cllr Jonathan Mitchell, Cllr Rosie Shimell and myself have ensured our local Police have two different speed measuring devices so they can enforce speed limits (they don't like callnig them speed guns).

I will ask if they can do some work on Barry Road. Have you spotted this speeding happening at a particulate time or day of the week?

There are plastic bags over the 20mph limit signs at the junction of Goodrich and Barry Roads. Is this meant to be the case?

Southwark Council are finally implimenting the 20mph policy for the borough agreed way back in 2008.

So my hunch is this sign will be revealed with many others - hence why its covered. Seems a little OTT and I'll ask that we justreveal it rather than spend money installing, covering and then uncovering.

Just received a letter from Southwark Council this morning about the voting registers. (Headlined - "Your vote matters. The way you register to vote is changing."

The third paragraph says, "Your details are not on the open register."; however in the paragraph headed "The open register", the following is stated, "Your name and address will be included in the open register unless you ask for them to be removed."

Please can you clarify. Thank you.

Sounds to me like another way to catch people out. If details are not already on the open register it's probably because those people don't want them on there. Why should you have to opt out of something you have not agreed to in the first place? Can't people be asked to opt in instead? Janes, any comment?

I agree that it is irritating to be asked to opt out of something that i haven't agreed to in the first instance. However, I imagine this instance is simply human error. We all make them!

These are form letters, which include details of what happens if you are on the open register. The key thing here is that the letter generated confirms that you are not on that register, and will continue not to be on it unless you wish to change.

Ideally the later paragraph should have read 'Your name and address will be included in the open register unless you ask (or have already asked) for them to be removed." But you can't expect perfect drafting anymore.

This looks like the same problem that was occurring earlier in the year which is said to have been rectified though clearly there is still something wrong.

I don't think this is the same issue. I have a letter that tells me that i need to opt out and that i don't need to opt out. All i am looking for is clarification from Southwark!!

After re-reading the letter I also received today. I gather that I'm not on the open register and then the third paragraph explains what the open register is.

I also received this letter yesterday which was as clear as mud.

But also enclosed was a leaflet telling me I needed to register to vote. But the letter said I didnt need to do anything!

The last paragraph of the leaflet states "If you have registered yourself at your current address sicne 10 June 2014 in England and Wales or 19 Septeber 2014 in Scotland - and you have not moved home since - you will be registered to vote under the new system."

THIS IMPLIES TO ME THAT I WILL NEED TO REGISTER TO VOTE VIA www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
