Right, a good friend is getting wed next Feb in South America, so obviously it's going to cost us all loads of money.

As a result, we're forgetting about plans to go away for a boys weekend, and instead will just be doing an afternoon activity (could be anything), followed by a drinking session in London. Alternatively, we'll just start the drinking in the afternoon, and plough on through! (this would probably be my preferrence, but I suspect some of the other lads are a bit more sensible than me)

Now, I've only ever done one London stag, and it was rubbish, planned by 2 guys, with a stupid schedule and map, which went out the window after the first bar!

Has anyone got any suggestions as to a good boys day / night out?

Note: Please don't suggest Paintballing followed by titty bars!

How about go-karting followed by titty bars? That's my only experience of a stag do in London.

If you want to go to a club (one where the the girls have clothes on, and are actual customers) you will probably need to phone up a few places and arrange some sort of guest list. Most places will turn away 15 pissed up blokes.

Seriously though if you want a London based day out and want to avoid the normal stag do horrors why not get together in the park in the afternoon for a game of football or cricket and a few coolers of beer, then go for a curry and then go somewhere that has a band on and/or some pool tables in the evening.

Then go to Kebab and Wine.

I'm going to suggest avoiding anything to do with water - anyone suggests punting on the Serpentine for example, tell them do do one..

Is London the venue for anything London-specific or is it the location handiest for everyone? My stag do consisted of my local pub, a darts board, a bowling alley, the landlord being very generous, and then a house part across the road. It was a fine night and never entered the realms of silliness

Keef - you can go out on a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) on the thames. Its basically like a rubber dingy with an outboard motor, so it goes dead fast. They're pretty good fun.

You're so lucky - Hen dos are generally shite. I can't think of anything worse than spending a day in a health spa, or out on the lash wearing bunny ears. :(

Not that I intend to, but if I ever did get married the girls would be going to Riga to fire AK47s etc. ;-)

    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
