SHAME on Ray Winstone for advertising 365 Betting on prime time T.V.

Even more so for an actor ( guffaw ) who prides himself in his craft & is so obviously reading from an "auto cue" whilst spouting phony enthusiasm for various computations designed to draw money from desperate & deluded " punters "

I have no qualms in saying that I despise betting & the industry surrounding it, that it's advertised on our airwaves as a leisure pursuit sits very badly.

Odds on you agree with me.

Ray Winstone is in my opinion a fine actor. He may stick to the usual east end hoodlum but he does it well so who am I to complain eh. He was undeniably good in Sexy Beast and Henry The VIII.

It was suggested that Mr Winstone may be a viable choice to take on the role of 007 by another established forum member but I see this as a foolish notion. Ray Winstone's Bond would, without a doubt, eventually nick the Aston and flog it for parts.

I sort of agree with you about the betting industry but people will gamble on just about anything from whether Ray Winstone's Bond would rummage around in his victims mouths for gold teeth or if he'd headbutt M for confining him his mock Tudor home in Essex for insubordination. People will gamble, encouraged or not by glossy ads portraying the life of a gambler as that of a glamorous secret agent.

    • My memory, admittedly not very reliable these days, places the shop on the block on the left hand side just before Burgess Park going towards Camberwell. Have also found a reference to Franklins Antiques being located at 157 Camberwell Road which is on that block. This is a screen shot obtained from Google maps of that address which accords with my memory except the entrance door was on the right hand side, where the grey door is, rather than in the centre.
