Hello east Dulwich.

I've been in the locality for a number of years and my progeny have flown the nest. I've been nudged in your direction by another lurker but I intend to ignore their shyness and engage with those of you that enjoy a good chin wag. I've been in the employ of the diplomatic service and look forward to forging engaging conversation.

Do indulge me.

You will need all your diplomatic skills on here Liberty.

Firstly, thank you all for your warm welcome.

Secondly, Jah Lush (he or she?). I found your contribution to be bizarre and unworthy of grown up discourse. Whatever would cause you to associate the character of a children's fairytale with trans gender surgery is beyond me. I shall however put it down to harmless joshing.

I spent last night reading some of the threads of discussion and have come to the conclusion that you're all a curious and witty bunch. I've encountered the dulwichmum and can confirm that we are not the same person although she is most certainly an entertaining writer.

Yes Mick Mac, it would seem that I shall have to rely on my experience in the foreign office. I know how to deal with flak though. I'm a freelance war correspondent for the British and American press.

Now, it's time for tea and scones. Toodle pip...

Do you work for the National Inquirer then? i love that specially the one with the American issue inside.....Ohh please say yes.

Ohh & you know that phrase " one coming in " ( it's army talk, but you know that ) well I just had "one going out" upstairs in the thunderbox if you catch my drift, do you understand cypher ?

Phew near miss !

W**F

Welcome Libby, if I may take such a liberty.

So the P have flown the N, eh? May I bold enough to ask if they're bastards? I make no judgement, I have one of my own.

In my round about way I'm trying to ascertain your availability, without implying you're a slag or nothing, that would be the furthest thing from my mind.

Believe me.

Though there's some on here as would walk over a person's reputation in uncleanened non-dubbined rugger boots. Just for kicks. And some of the blokes are almost as bad.

So any old hoo, is there a Mr Blush? I think we should be told.

And if he exists, does he know where I live?

    • East Dulwich is very well served for green spaces although that doesn't preclude the creation of more.  Just wonder where the land would come from to create new green spaces - the priority for any available land would be for housing.
    • Tried Janda. Hits and some misses. Chicken Satay & Beef Rendang were excellent and spot on. Stir fried rice noodles (Kuay Teow) were unexpectedly swimming in a peanut sauce and sadly very overcooked.   They were absolutely swamped though (assume because of the excellent recent review) so wonder if quality was affected by that… would definitely go again and try more things, menu was full of interesting sounding dishes.
    • Just wanted to say how great it is to see so many people talking about local issues here. It really shows how passionate and engaged the community is. I moved to East Dulwich a couple of years ago and have loved seeing the area evolve. The local businesses are fantastic and it’s always nice to run into familiar faces when out and about. That being said, I think we could definitely use more green spaces for everyone to enjoy. It would be great to see more events or gatherings where neighbours can meet up and make the most of what we have. Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this.
    • According to someone who knows, there's a broken sewage pipe from the flats above that is leaking behind the wine/sandwiches fridges. Why it's not been shut down, I don't know, as that is effluent seeping into the booze aisle.
