come on keef - myspace is crap, all I know about myspace is that big breasted women want to become my friends in order to sell something or other, it's full of teens, and you cant read anything as everybody seems to want some snazzy background! Not sure facebook is all that (though I seem to have been on it quite a bit over the past couple of days!), but it does seem to be infinitely better than myspace. Go on - you know it's true >:D

But how is it really different? The good thing is it has better security to stop the spam, but other than that... Like I say, myspace was really good for bands, but as for the individual pages, I don't really see a huge difference... I just don't really see the point in either to be honest :-S

I'll concede myspace is better for bands, but I think facebook is friendlier, easier to use, and a better social site than myspace. I guess I should also agree with you last point, as I'm questioning why I'm having this argument, but if I did, the day may get duller. Facebook is like flickr, the forum and myspcae rolled into one, how can you not like it :oP

I wish to protest about being inundated by invites on Myspace from the people you describe, Fear - mostly because it hasn't happened to me!!!

From what little I've seen so far Facebook offers much better social interaction but I do miss the music and design possibilities of Myspace. The ads do drive me barmy mind you

Ultimately however... I haven't got enought time for all of these sites and the deeper I go into the warren that is myspace/facebook/flickr etc the more I realise I need to step back!

Whether I will remains to be seen. And EDF will always be my first-love - aahhhhh

Well they both have photos, groups, and private messages... ;-) I think my real issue with it is just the poking thing, I just don't get it, what's it for??? And what sort of message is it sending out to our young people... You can't just go out and expect to poke anyone that takes your fancy! *heh heh*

I just poked someone I thought was someone I knew and they poked me back and then we sent messages to each other and then I saw their photos and realised that it was someone I used to know back in pompey when I was younger and this person I have not seen for about seven years and its great to be in touch with them because we used to be really good mates and she has had a breast reduction which is sad and it made me lose my ability to use punctuation for a whole day

So hungover I've been using facebook this morning because it doesn't take much of my brain power.... Can see how I might get dragged in to this whole thing.....

Quite nice to see cousins and old friends on there..... Damn it, I don't want to get in to facebook, I don't have enough energy for another addiction! :(

    • Hi All, I’d like to recommend Aaron Manser, who several others on this forum have also used. Aaron is an excellent plasterer, and has just finished a complicated piece of plastering work for me, including a large expanse of ceiling. His work has been of the highest quality, his attention to detail is exceptional, and he’s also very quick, and tidy too. As an added bonus he has a lovely singing voice. Happy to provide any photos of the work he has done. This is the third time over the past few years I’ve had Aaron back. Aaron Manser - 07773 410661 Regards, Damien
    • I really have to smile as I was the one, years ago who posted about what Gala was.. had not a clue, but drove and drive regularly. Felt such a fool at the time but wow, years later post still comes up.. with comments. Still don’t understand why a lot of park is cordoned off and glad not a resident overlooking park.. must be so noisy but now dates have been kindly supplied, those that don’t want to chill and listen to music in their flats/houses can up sticks and explore UK or abroad. Totally understand that in a built up area and millions in London, music events take place all over the capital to allow access to all.  Brockwell  Park, Dulwich Park, don’t hear anything going on in or around Telegraph Hill or indeed Horniman Gardens.. Crystal Palace I believe do their own thing.  Do these events , clearly charge, provide their own insurance, public liability, crowd control, first aiders, security and policing? Rubbish clearance etc
    • Personally I think the second weekend has always been a tactical ploy with no real intention of going ahead with it. The council then turn it down (saying they have listened to us, which of course they haven’t) and announce that they will only license one weekend. GALA get the result that they want - job done. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the council even suggested this ploy, they are so desperate to keep the event.
    • Hello Tori, which of the three incumbent Labour Councillors are you hoping to replace?
