I mean Wigan is a separate country with it's own language an' everything and they got in, so don't see why the "others" cant have a go. Starting in say league 2 and go from there, maybe even an invitational show match or 2 for "charidy" meanwhile.

The only area of difficulty maybe that the after match live chat on Sky " Och a weell ya see....Nooooo ehhh I" may need subtitles. Though scouser Jamie Carrick is on enough & that requires the sound up with full concentration but we get through that " ehhhm.. like" OK.

Maybe....perhaps it could work.

They have reached their full potential.. that's it really. Why should they have their potential changed?

We achieved our full potential Ruffers - it does not get any higher or better than this.

I support Celtic because on the day I was born in September 1967 , I asked my Dad - "which team is the best in Europe Dad?" - and he said - "Glasgow Celtic son - they beat the mighty Inter Milan, they played them off the park. A great victory for British football".

Yes very good Declan. I have never wished I was Scottish, but I'm beginning to come to terms with the fact that I am likely to stay in England. Its been 20 years now and my kids appear to be English, my wife is English and I even speak the language (although Ladymuck has questioned this).

Celtic as any supporter knows has its roots in the Irish community so its the most Irish team this side of the water and thats part of the reason I support them, nothing to do with Scotland or wishing I was Scottish. Although I don't mind the Scots at all.

No offence intended Mick but having a soft spot for a team this side of the water is partially because we aren't that side of the water. If I was there I'd probably go back to watching Longford Town if it didn't clash with Longford RFC playing. Don Givens brother used to play for Da Town ya know.Mind you I'd still be a ManU fan.

edited to take out the sectarian bo**ix

Both Rangers and Celtic would struggle to stay in the Premiership just now. At the end of the day it all comes down to money... I think the team relegated from the Prem gets about 30million TV money? Rangers and Celtic get about 2-3million a year.

If we had that sort of money, then we'd compete. It would not be difficult for both to attract big names... Rangers and Celtic are 2 huge, huge clubs. I think I'm right in saying only 3, maybe 4 teams in the EPL get higher attendances than Rangers and Celtic.

I can't see it being an automatic route into the premiership... turkeys don't vote for Christmas... can you see teams saying they'd let R&C in at their own expense? No idea how it will happen, but I can see them both in an English league at some point...

Also, Scottish football wouldn't die, there is the argument it would become better and have a more competitive league allowing the other teams to win and flourish.

p.s Declan - why the need for the sectarian bollox?

Rangers or Celtic in the ENGLISH Premier league? The answer is in the title. And if so, at whose expense? Who would miss out on promotion or be dropped as a result of such a ludicrous scenario. Leave them where they are. I wonder if the roles where reversed ther would be the same sort of clamour for ENGLISH teams to join the SCOTTISH prem league.

Oh my dear lord, hilarious, did you think that up all by yourself? I bet parties at your place are a real scream.

As I did dear boy, as I did. You know what they say, if you can't take it don't dish it out.

Yes are they are well spotted, 2 wrongs don't make a right. Tell you what, let's have German, French or Italian clubs in the prem, why not. After all away days to some French sides will be just as far or even closer than going to Scotland. What a great idea. See if you can sell it to the powers that be.

I think it's only a matter of time before that happens, I've been expecting something like this for years. Champs League is more or less such a league anyway.

Maybe a wee bit over the top - aren't we all part of Britain????

I often thought it might be a good idea to ditch both league cups in England and Scotland (do they have a minor cup in Wales?) and play a British League Cup???

Swansea and Cardiff are in the 'English' league because when they joined up it was the "Football League of England & Wales" - similarly when the First Division was renamed the Premiership back in the early nineties should likes of Spurs & West Ham have been kicked out? ;-)

I stayed in the same house as Gary in final year of University at Jordanstown. Have not seen him since, apart from watching him on TV and wondering how the lucky bugger managed it. Always had a suspicion he was after my girlfriend, so didn't quite trust him. Get the impression that you might not trust yourself with him either Monica?....

    • Thank you for the feedback! Helps to see we're not alone. The only good experience we had was Modern House. Anyone tried Strike/Purple Bricks/Yopa? How did it go? Anything to be mindful of?
    • Best experience we had was with Modern House. The rest of the agents around the area are appalling.... They just want their commission and not interested in getting a good deal. You'd be lucky if they pick up the phone...
    • I’d like to echo the positive comments about Trelco. I discovered that the stopcock on the rising main was leaking and was damaging the flooring in the utility room. Not having seen this thread, or any reviews for that matter,  I picked Trelco  as it was the nearest to me. It was a gamble but goodness it paid off. James was responsive and clear in what he offered. His colleague Andy replaced the offending stopcock and put in a lever valve to allow me to shut off the water easily when I go away. He did a great job, neat and tidy, he was cheerful, friendly and professional. All this within a day of contacting them. Although not an emergency it needed resolution quickly. The price charged was very reasonable indeed, especially considering the quality of the service. I am so pleased to have found such an excellent plumber.
