Recommended Posts

Hello,

Just wanted to leave a recommendation if anyone out there does a search for Handyman recommendations.

Vincent, on the number below, has just completed some work at our house and he was brilliant: friendly, prompt, competent, tidy, and the work is great.

His number is: 07931-737 773

Thanks, Chloe

After contacting Vince, he came by the same day to assess and quote for the work (including light fitting, shower riser fitting, making and mounting a cabinet) and returned at 9am the next day prepped, and got on with all the jobs to amazing standard, plus quoting for a fence repair. Would recommend - 07931 737773

I would also highly recommend Vince.

He helped this week with fixing our curtains as well as various bits and bobs very quickly.

He was punctual, professional and tidy.

He is also very nice and his fees are quite reasonable.

A great number to keep and share:

We instructed Vince to box in some new pipes at our shop in West Norwood.

He visited the same day we contacted him as he was in the area and the work was completed within a day.

The Manager of the shop complemented the work especially how tidy and clean the area was left after the job was complete.

We have asked Vince to take a look at our other shop in Sydenham as work is required there.

Highly recommend.

Hi all.

Introduced to Vince by the EDF ... he very promptly came round to my apartment last week to help with a complicated bathroom fitting, and it's wiring. Polite, prompt, professional, clean and cost effective ... I would highly recommend him and his work!

Thumbs up!

Hi all,

Another gleaming review for Vince. He responded quickly to texts and arrived promptly on the day. We had a rather heavy mirror cabinet which had to be installed and he and his colleague Stanley did a great job of positioning it as requested and also cutting a hole in the back of the cabinet to allow for the shaving socket. I found out he also lays floors so will be calling him again soon.

Vince has just popped round at very short notice to hang a couple of mirrors, a wall lamp, coat hook and fix a couple of doors where the hinges were coming out. He was super speedy, really nice, professional, tidy and did a great job for a good price. Thank you Vince, I will be calling again!

Also recommend Vince. Resealed two show trays, plastered airing cupboard and reconfigured shelves, altered a made to measure set of book shelves brilliantly, hung some really tricky things on varous walls, put new roof on our shed and is thoughtful and a pleasure to have around. Just working on the next list of things that I can ask him to do. Thank you Vince

Called Vince last night we had problems with some sockets at one of our charity shops. Vince turned up this morning as promised and got to work immediately sorting out the problem and making the supply safe again and securing the very loose sockets.

Highly recommend Vince he's reliable and gets on with the job in hand.

We would love to add our recommendation for Vince and his team. They have just completed a kitchen extension for us which included a full kitchen replacement, creation of a downstairs toilet, new light box in the roof plus bifold doors across the back and a new side door. This took 10 weeks to complete.

The guys were professional, proactive with great ideas, clean, organised, friendly, kind to our kids and have produced some fantastic work. I would definitely use them again in the future and have been recommending them to all of my friends.

    • Whilst I agree, I have been thinking about this recently in relation to some of the other posts on here about anti social behaviour. We are all products of our upbringing - our experiences at home, school and beyond - plus whatever we have inherited genetically which might affect our behaviour (the nature/nurture thing). So in this case, if people haven't been brought up to love and appreciate trees and other wild things, plus as you say they may be deeply unhappy (or have other undiagnosed issues) it's easy to see how they could have ended up doing this. Also, it's possible they had quite low intelligence and didn't really grasp what they were doing and the effect it would have on so many other people. But that's just surmise and possibly completely wrong. From what I've read about it, they seemed to be two mates egging each other on, like two big kids. I'm not for a minute excusing what they did, and it's right they should be punished, but I really hope they might get some sort of rehabilitation in prison (it would  be appropriate to have them do some kind of community service like planting saplings, wouldn't it, or working in woodland conservation). And the same goes for phone robbers and shoplifters (rehabilitation, not planting saplings), though for SOME  shoplifters there might also be other issues at play, not excluding poverty. Sorry Jasonlondon,  I've gone off at a real tangent here, lucky it's in the lounge! Oh oops I've just noticed it isn't. Sorry admin. Oh, and then there's a whole philosophical discussion to be had about free will and determinism ..... 🤣🤣🤣
    • Thanks! I'll find out in a few weeks when I get the results! It was one of those disconcerting things where a disembodied voice keeps booming  at you to breathe in and hold it, then breathe normally. Apart from that it was OK, all completely painless. I imagine there will be quite a few people going from ED, though I presume it covers the whole Southwark area
    • Two men behind ‘senseless’ felling of Sycamore Gap tree jailed for more than four years Good to see these two jailed today for four years. There’s something deeply disturbing about people who destroy trees—any tree. Whether it’s a centuries-old landmark or a sapling in a quiet park, trees are living beings that offer beauty, shade, and life. The men who cut down the Sycamore Gap tree are a stark example of how far some people will go to lash out at something peaceful and meaningful. People who harm nature like this aren’t just destructive—they are often deeply unhappy. It takes a troubled mind to look at a tree and see something to ruin instead of something to protect.
