Brulysses
HI,Our big, black, male cat called Cosmo/Coz(no collar but chipped to Celia Hammond, Lewisham)went missing on the afternoon of the 23rd, he likes a wander but this is way out of character as he loves his food. He's a very friendly, talkative cat, a real character and we miss him terribly. If you've seen anything that might help please let me know on 07809640218 and if you have a garden shed or glasshouse, please have a check.Thank you, Bruce + Bronwen Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/ Share on other sites
thebodyodyssey
Hello,I have just come back from my walk with my dog at Green Dale Fields and I found a black cat with no collar. Have you found yours? Unfortunately this is sad news for it's owner.Nadia Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-941906 Share on other sites
Brulysses
Hi Nadia,I checked the poor thing out, I'm pretty sure it wasn't him, he's bigger and didn't have a nick in his left ear. We tried to get hold of the council without luck, will try again tomorrow. Many thanks Bruce & Bron Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-941934 Share on other sites
Brulysses
Hi and a Happy New Year to all,I just wanted to say we've still seen nothing of COSMO, the black cat, it's been over a week and we're really worried. We've checked the local vets, put up posters, checked his microchip...so if anyone has taken in a cat for xmas, can they please take it to the vets and check that it does/doesn't have an owner by looking at the chip?... If anyone does see a big, friendly, talkative, green-eyed black cat, please give us a call on 07809640218.Thank youBruce & Bron x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-943347 Share on other sites

Brulysses
Hi Ondine,We're going to do door-to-door over the next few days, it seems like all we've got left! Thanks for the tip, much appreciated!CheersBruce Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-945138 Share on other sites
Brulysses
HiJust a quick message to say that we're still looking for Cosmo, no leads yet, but we're still living in hope. I notice that there seem to have been quite a few cats go missing over Christmas, not sure why that is, but I sympathise with all of you who have lost a kitty, it's a horrible feeling, not knowing what's happened (esp at xmas - kind of ruined ours)and I truly hope that you all have success in finding your little buddies.Bruce & Bron Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-947870 Share on other sites
Barnesfan
I'm very sorry to hear Cosmo is still missing. I know what a horrid feeling it is.Have you tried putting some of his dirty litter, or some of your dirty (as smelly as possible!) clothes outside? We did this when one of our boys went missing last year and he came back a few hours later. Admittedly he'd only been gone a few days and it might have been a coincidence but if Cosmo has been locked in somewhere over Xmas and is a bit disoriented, it might help him find his way home. Fingers crossed he's back very soon - and don't give up, there have been cats on this forum returning home after months!KX Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-947967 Share on other sites
Brulysses
Thank you for your kind words and tips, I will try that...I've read that they're often within a few miles and can get lost and/or disorientated, so if he might be able to 'smell' his way back... MMM&S
Hi, we lost our black cat on 17-01-16 and after much searching, leafleting all the houses & putting up posters, we found him last night! My husband went out at 11pm when it was quiet & banged a food tin ,calling the cats name & eventually Spider came running. He was lost quite away from home, very scared & hungry. Thought this might help you look for Cosmo. Try to leaflet as many houses & talk to as many people as you can ( it was hard work but the kids enjoyed knocking on doors asking for their help).Don't just do the closest houses, because chances are he's wandered farther than you think. I really hope you find him safe & well. Brulysses
Thank you so much, I'm really glad you found him, that's amazing! We have tried everything, but maybe we should go a little farther out...it's been a month now, so we're both pretty dejected and down, but we still have some hope, especially as you found Spider!B&B Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-950942 Share on other sites
se22cat
Have you tried printing out some missing posters and putting them on lamp posts around the area? Its easy enough to knock out via Word and I really hope your cat bro comes back home. Brulysses
yeah, we've tried everything, I've registered on all the lost pet sites, put posters up, gone door-to-door, alerted the chip company/Celia Hammond/rspca...I can't think of anything else...he's a big, strong, noisy cat with plenty of character, I just can't believe that he's just disappeared of the face of the planet. se22cat
tried twitter and instagram? I know of a couple of cats who got back to their owners via good use of hashtags & ED has a population now who use those tools a lot, just a thought. I bet he's been taken in by someone and am sure you will be back with him. Brulysses
Hi,just a quick reminder, if you see a big, black cat who looks a little lost, or is begging for food(loudly), or someone you know has taken one in off the street (do please get his chip scanned)...please give me a shout on 07809640218 or pm me. We still haven't given up hope that our wonderful cat Cosmo is still out there somewhere, even after 5 weeks.ThanksBruce & Bronwen Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-956084 Share on other sites

Brulysses
Already done all that & everything we could possibly do, apart from put traps and static cameras out a la Springwatch! He's either lost and living rough, someone has taken him in or he's gone...I just hope it's the first two. He has a chip so if something has/had happened to him, I'd like to think we'd hear about it. se22cat
Hey don't give up hope! One of ours kept going missing last year and it ended up a very kind lady was taking her in occasionally. She goes through periods of losing weight for a bit then bouncing back, has a thyroid problem. Your cat looks strong and healthy so he may have just got lost and been taken in for a while. I really hope your bro comes back soon. Vik
There've been posters on Ivanhoe since before Christmas regarding a black cat picked up by the RSPCA, I'm sure you're seen them but thought I should bring them to your attention just in case. Brulysses
Hi Vik,I think that was for 'Ivan' who was picked up before Christmas and taken to Celia Hammond. He's still there and a lovely black cat by all accounts, so if anyone is looking for a nice, chatty black cat, give Celia Hammond Lewisham a call. RE: Cosmo, I have checked with the RSPCA and he does have a chip, so it's almost certainly not him, but thank you for thinking of him!B&B Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-957318 Share on other sites
Brulysses
So we got a lead about a very big black cat, seen coming out of Lettsom Gardens (Grove Park, Camberwell)last week, which sounds like a good lead and it's pretty close to us...I spent an hour in the gardens calling his name and rustling a treats packet but got nothing although the weather was a bit poor. If it is him, somebody must be feeding him/taking him in...if you live in that area (top of Camberwell Grove, Grove Park, Grove Hill Rd, Bromar, Ivanhoe), please keep your eyes open for him, he should answer/come to 'Cozzy'.Many thanksBruce & Bron Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-959720 Share on other sites
Brulysses
had another sighting in Crofton Rd which is just a hop over the railway line from us, so is pretty credible...if anyone lives in Crofton/Bushey Hill roads or Lyndhurst Grove (all in Camberwell), please get in touch!ThanksBruce & Bron Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/87869-lost-black-cat-grove-parkivanhoe-rd/#findComment-961958 Share on other sites
