OK, so the last thread decided that we're going to do it... but I'm a bit lost trying to read through and sort out what's what, so if you'd like to come please sign up here to give me an idea of numbers and I'll get a space/table booked.

Details:

Sat 12th Dec

8pm onwards

PLOUGH PUB (near Dulwich Library)

The more the merrier!

Pippa

Is anyone with a huge bump going? I'll only get dead jealous of all your Cosmo (etc) drinking if i don't have a 'lime and soda' partner. I'd love to join you but might join you for a January one otherwise - then I can have a drink or two and let my hair down more.

Would love to come, but am driving back from Bicester late on 12th so though my heart is willing my flesh will definitely be weak. I'll raise a mug of Baileys & hot choc to you all when I'm safely home & snuggled up in front of 'Casualty' (my secret addiction), and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

No bump ... but I'm not a great drinker and might even be driving, so don't worry.... come along!!

Around 13 (give or take) so far - anyone else?

If you don't sign up please still come along if you fancy it, it's just a casual meet up - come for a drink, have some food if you want to (I will eat before I come out as we eat early with the kids in the weekend), put some faces to names!

OK, an update... the Magnolia aren't able to accommodate us on Saturday, so I've got us a space reserved at the Plough. Bit of a random choice (hope it's OK for everyone), based purely on the fact that it's one of the few pubs I've been to recently, has quite a nice vibe without being too mad, and there's plenty of room. And also the lady I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and helpful!

We have a space (not sure if it will be a table, or maybe one of the groups of sofas) reserved for us from 8pm, under "EDF Mums" and my name - Pippa.

If you're coming along and don't know anyone feel free to PM me for my mobile number, and I'll make sure I meet you as you arrive. I'll comfortably be there for 8pm, will try to arrive a bit earlier. Feel free to invite any friends you have that fancy a night out.

Thanks Pickle, I like the vibe at the Plough, glad we're not going somewhere so loud we can't talk (great if dancing, but not so good for first time socialising)!

I too should be there from 8pm, mobile number below if anyone wants/needs to call me.

Molly

Hi Pickle,

Are you trying to reserve the room upstairs at The Mag or just an area on the ground floor? Just out of curiosity really because sometimes they let people have it if the group is large, but suspect they are busy for xmas socials.

Anyhoo, many thanks for arranging the Plough and look forward to seeing/meeting all the ED ladies (think I only know a few of you... Pickle, Fuschia, Molly!)

Best,

-C

    • In just two days, we’ll take to the streets to show Donald Trump that he and his politics are not welcome here. On Saturday the global far-right mobilised their biggest protest for decades. We want to show that supporters of Trump and fascism are not the majority – far from it. Here are all the details you need for the day. The march assembles at Portland Place, near the BBC, at 2pm (see assembly blocs below). After speeches here, the march will move off at 3pm. It will then march down Regent St, through Piccadilly Circus, on Whitehall (past Downing St) to our rally at Parliament Square. The rally at Parliament Square will begin around 5pm and finish at 7pm. If you can’t make it to the march, feel free to join the rally after work! (Nearest tube: Westminster). The short, accessible version of the route assembles at the top of Whitehall (SW1A 2DY) at 4.30pm to march to Parliament Square for 5pm. You may also prefer to just join the rally directly at Parliament Square.  Join a bloc – and make friends! Our movement is diverse, and various elements are forming ‘blocs’ on the march to emphasise their visual presence collectively. You can join these blocs or form up behind them:   A) Palestine, near BBC, W1A 1AA B) Climate, W1B 1NS C) Amnesty, around junction with New Cavendish St, W1B 1LU D) Migrants' rights, W1B 1LS E) Jewish bloc, W1B 1QQ F) Ukraine, around junction with Weymouth St, W1B 1JL G) Europe, W1B 1NR More stewards still needed Stewards are a crucial part of keeping the protest safe for everyone to participate. They are a visible point of contact for attendees who may need directions or other assistance. Experience of stewarding is useful but it's also fine if you haven't done it before. You will be issued with a hi-vis jacket and briefed in advance and on the day.  Sign up to be a steward Staying comfortable on the day The demonstration lasts for several hours, so we suggest you should:     Bring a bottle of water and snacks (and eat beforehand)     Charge your phone fully the night before, and bring a portable charger if you can     Go to the loo beforehand (really!)     Buddy up with someone, or stick together as a group – it can be hard to find people easily if people wander off     Coming alone? Protests can be a great place to meet like-minded people. If you feel unsure, you can always talk to a steward     Consider the weather: bring a waterproof jacket or wear suncream where necessary     Wear comfortable clothes and footwear, and use our accessible route if you need to (see above) Bring your friends and family on Wednesday. Let’s make this massive! In solidarity, Stop Trump Coalition
