worth noting that the above link shows a house which is 12ft wide which in estate agent speak probably means practically 10ft wide on average therefore i think the link only justifies the crazy price

Although the total sq ft is over 800 which isn't too bad, it's just a very narrow building, it's goes back quite far!

By the end of a 25 year mortgage it would have cost almost 1.2 million to buy! Googled the address to see if it started life as a house and it seems it was originally a coach house. So 1.2 million for an old shed then?

The house to the left was my friend's family home until about a decade ago. This was their garage. His mum sold the lot for a lot less than they're asking for the garage now.

I had a look on the ordinance survey maps to and until around 1950 it seems it was a pathway to some land behind. Doesn't say for what use. So an added on garage makes far more sense than a coach house. I half wonder if that label was also to sell the property as something it never was, for effect. All of it is ridiculous though.

I know this flat is in Brixton, but it's symptomatic of the housing 'boom' in our neck of the woods. Unbelievably, it's on the market with a guide price between ?350 and ?400. See the photo and weep.

Really? 800 sqft is the space I'd expect in a 2 bed flat for 550-600K.

I have no problem with someone building a house there - or trying to flog it - but the price is daft.
