Foxtons - of course....

Foxtons are fools. For the same money you can get a 3 bedroom house with garden on a quieter street in the same area.

A perfect match for the Daily Mail in that case. I'm surprised they haven't blamed the expense on carcinogenic Muslim Romanian health and safety officers on benefits.

I had a look on the ordinance survey maps to and until around 1950 it seems it was a pathway to some land behind. Doesn't say for what use. So an added on garage makes far more sense than a coach house. I half wonder if that label was also to sell the property as something it never was, for effect. All of it is ridiculous though.

I know this flat is in Brixton, but it's symptomatic of the housing 'boom' in our neck of the woods. Unbelievably, it's on the market with a guide price between ?350 and ?400. See the photo and weep.

Really? 800 sqft is the space I'd expect in a 2 bed flat for 550-600K.

I have no problem with someone building a house there - or trying to flog it - but the price is daft.

    • I'm not sure what to make of that, Sue  "the Lambeth Country Show will not take place in June 2026."   It's been going for over 50 years. Seems a shame to bin that one off in favour of the other four festivals.
    • We did fine for 300 years with the Royal Mail before the current "competitive" shambles was introduced. Now we have multiple companies with multiple vehicles making deliveries to the same streets every day, none of the workers are employees with decent working conditions or any job security, and consumers have to deal with x different distribution networks and apps and platforms and drop-off points... https://postandparcel.info/12422/news/uk-royal-mails-monopoly-to-end-on-1-january-2006/
    • That's certainly the narrative that runs ad infinitum on the Forum but I wonder how true it is. Speaking for myself I'm very happy M&S, Superdrug, Pret and, in the last century, Sainsbury's arrived and judging from the business they do I'm not alone.
