I am incredibly surprised by the last review. I have used David and his team for several years for various roofing and guttering matters and they have been most pleasant to deal with .. in fact they go out of their way to get things sorted by coming out of hours when they say that they will and their rates are most reasonable. None of the team have ever been aggressive or unwilling to engage on any occasion. They are most professional in attitude. They have never been pushy either and have always talked through options.

I first used them when another trader on this forum came to quote and stated that I needed a new roof for ?20K! David then came around to quote and was horrified by 1) the quote 2) that the trader had only given me that option. David and his team are my go to professionals and I have happily recommended them to my family and friends.

Have used Dave and his team for 3 jobs in the past few years, including one major one (renewal of a flat roof on a loft conversion), and been very happy with their work. No problems with any of it so far (the oldest job was some repair work to the lead flashing on the roof parapets - this is a well known weak point for water penetration with Victorian terraces and had to be completely redone when we first bought our house, but it's been fine since the repair). They are always very quick to respond and their quotes are reasonable. As with the previous reviewer (jlc19 on 5.7), I was a bit surprised at the review on 4.7 - all I can say is that this hasn't been our experience at all and I am confident that if we did have a problem, we could have a sensible discussion with them about it. Also, on questions like whether it's the guttering or the roof itself, the latest job Dave has done for us turned out to be a problem with both - the roofing felt needed renewing on a section of roof at the back of our house (as water was getting into the ceiling of the back bedroom), but when the tiles were lifted it was clear that the problem had been made worse by the gutter/downpipe arrangement from our loft conversion, so we agreed that Dave and Pat would change that as well.

I used David after personal recommendations and he didn?t and continues to not disappoint. I brought a flat where inadequate roof work was covered up, after moving in I encountered major leaks in the Chimney area and bathroom roof. in time of need and with a lack of access, David was round on the day. He recognised immediately the problems with the roof and was back within days to complete the work. All with before and after photos and a guarantee.

The roof has been watertight since including in some torrential rain storms and I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend David and will be using him for all future jobs.

Despite being the busiest roofer in SE London, I contacted David yesterday as our gutters were overflowing with the heavy rain - he responded straightaway and he and Patrica arrived super early and it's all done. After finding it really difficult to find anyone to come and fix a leak we were having coming in the through our roof it was so fantastic to find David at Norwood Roofing Specialists. He and his team are prompt, knowledgable, responsive, friendly, professional and do a very good job at a fair price. They also organised the scaffolding for the job, and seem to have a very tight, good team around them for all aspects of the job. I have used David and his team several times (I got his name from this Forum originally) for roof repairs over the last few years, so when there was some severe water penetration recently through a part of my roof he had not worked on before, I didn’t hesitate to contact him. He always responds quickly, is very reliable, and gives 10 year guarantees for his work, but the main thing is that I know I can trust him not to over-quote ie that he will only recommend doing works which are necessary to solve whatever the problem is. This is very important to me as it’s not as if I know anything about roofing, nor am I ever going to be climbing up there myself ! The scaffolders he uses are efficient and polite too. I have no hesitation again in recommending Norwood Roofing Specialists. Guttering again blocked (surrounded by trees so to be expected) and during the recent torrential rain, water splashing down the side of my house. I left a message for David today for his next availability, he called back well within an hour and I was lucky enough that he was in the area and with me within 15 mins. That is service in itself.

He quickly established the problem and sorted it. He even sorted out blockages in other guttering about which I was unaware. We then discussed improving the layout of my guttering to minimise any future blockages and instantly he wanted to do the work in case of rain over the weekend. All done quickly and now looks far better & solid. Very reasonably priced as always. David is courteous, professional & goes over and beyond: I would not use anyone else. Speedy response to initial message (Friday) to Norwood Roofing Specialists and job done (full flat roof replacement) in the equivalent of less than two full working days (bit of Tuesday, most of Wednesday, bit of Thursday), including scaffolding being put up and taken down. No fuss or mess, photos of before and after and explanations given about courses of action, etc. Lots of recommendations already that I gladly add to.

Just used David and Patrick for a flat roof repair. They were friendly and helpful and able to do the job within a week of me getting a quote.
