Mr B works freelance and has time off in May. We would both love to go back to Thailand as love the place and have local friends there, but I'm not sure if it would just be too hot for a 2 yr old at that time? My instinct would be to leave it to next November when it's a bit cooler and the tot is a bit older, but can never guarantee us both being able to take holiday at the same time..

It will be really hot and the rainy season as everyone mentions. We took out two last February to Chiang Mai in the north and it was 32 degrees! I suppose if you go to the beaches it might be cooler and your hotel will be air conditioned, hopefully, but your 2 year old may not even notice the heat. Have fun!
We are taking our 3 year old and 6 year old to Thailand in April and are really looking forward to it. We took our son to Malaysia when he was two and he was fine, really loved it. The humid heat of the far east is actually easier for young children to cope with than dry heat. Try and get direct flights and night flights if possible to maximise flying time sleep and minimise jet lag on arrival. If your child sleeps well in his/her car seat ask the airline if you can bring it onto the plane. It has to be airline approved as they don't all fit the seats. We took a Maxi Cosi Priori XP which reclines quite nicely to Langkawi. After a spot of supper a few episodes of Pingu and a story he slept about 7 hours until breakfast was served. Also request toddlers meals. Have a wonderful holiday!

Just a thought, we've just come back from south africa with our 7 month old and he battled with the heat and humidity - he's a big fatty so he got a heat rash under his neck and had also had eczema as a baby - i've got a bunch of remedies at home which you are welcome to or I can tell you what we went through - nothing's heavy prescription and it has no steroid or cortisone.

But other then that we just managed the time of day we went out into the sunny parts and also i'd recommend somewhere with air con? definitely a pool. ps, they tend to sleep better due to it being so hot - enjoy!

Thanks for all your replies - still to decide, but all very helpful. Ours is also a big fattie and had very mild eczema which to my shame got significantly better when I started a more vigourous washing routine (behind the ears mostly). Not that I'm suggesting you don't wash your child linzkg! more that baby B's prob wasn't that serious.

    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.'
    • Dawson Heights again  2 lifts out of order at ladlands block Christmas Eve so of course the 🛗 will not be repaired tomorrow Christmas Day or Boxing Day or when how do elderly or mothers with children and prams and food and presents get to the floors and with the 10 minutes you get to drop off  to park and not get a Pcn fine and delivery food to relatives who can’t leave their house unbelievable Southern housing does any know email address of Coe of southern housing
    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
    • Sorry Sue - me again. This has been on my mind all day, it's a big bug bear of mine. If you don't mind - please can you private message me some of these shops so I can cross reference / add to my AVOID list.  Thanks in advance. Let's make sure this doesn't happen this Christmas, particularly as we head into sales season. Even more problematic in my experience.
