I know I super scared but excited at the same time.

Been feeling pretty shit if I'm honest and I have a huge belly already :(

I actually live in Peckham but I spend a lot of time with my mum who is on under hill road so I'm always in the area xx

How are you finding things? X

It is bizarre enough getting your head 'round having one in there... let alone twins!

Don't worry - I'm stretching the 'area' thing too as I'm nearer to Honor Oak, but spend lots of time in East Dulwich (and Peckham!).

I am still struggling to believe it's actually happening. Can only really see forward to the week ahead and the day my week changes, can't imagine giving birth, buying anything for the baby or that I will actually have a baby come September!!!

Will be 16 weeks tomorrow.

Although I had some nausea in my other pregnancies it was nothing compared to how rotten I've felt this time. I've been absolutely exhausted as well, no energy for anything. I'm hoping now I'm in the second trimester that I'll be re-energised again. Mine are 2.5 and 5.

Are you glowing now you are 16 weeks? I'm 14 weeks this week - I live in hope!

X

Hmmmmm... I'm not sure I'd say glowing exactly, but definitely look a bit more human! I couldn't believe how cr*p I looked before - really spotty, skin lost all its lustre. So yes, feeling back to myself and I hope you start to feel a bit better too.

My main issue is trying to control my anxiety. Just keep getting an annoying voice in my head somewhere saying "something is bound to go wrong" and it's horrible... means I'm counting each week, but struggle to see far beyond that.

Hello, ladies!

I'm so excited to have found this group :) I'm a first timer due 27th August living near Goose Green.

Feeling really good in general but like sdow687 I do worry a lot. We didn't have a good experience with our 12 week scan and ended up in the hellish two week wait for Harmony test results to come through. Everything's fine but I know I'm going to start freaking out soon, with the next scan only a few weeks away...

Is everyone here at King's for the birth?

F x

Hello :)

Yep, at King's too.

It's funny isn't it - you feel reassured for about a week after the scans, then go back to fretting. Sorry you had loads of stress and a long wait after yours.

I'm feeling a bit more human now. Looked like cr*p in the first 12 weeks!

Nice Easter weekend plans?

Sx

Ahh, thank you, S! Actually had a midwife appointment today and got to hear baby's heartbeat so I'm feeling loads calmer :)

King's is great but we kind of felt like we were just research samples on a conveyor belt at our scan. Hope you ladies had a better experience.

Got lovely Easter plans that include first ever baby shopping! Well, window shopping but still :) How about you?

Hi guys,

I'm just joining this group, due mid October with my second child. Live in Peckham, so not quite an ED local...

I've been feeling horrid since before my positive test, had nausea for 16 weeks last time, but it seems to be giving way a little now. Still pretty tired though... Anyone else who needs naps most days?

Actually not too bad! Been nauseous for a couple of days or so only, though definitely lost my appetite for a while. On the other hand spots are killing me :D feel like a teenager.

They say - week 16 shiny hair and glowing skin .. Hmmmm :) still waiting!

    • A shout out for Mark, owner of Pure Plumbers. 07970 971510 They're well established in the Sevenoaks area, but have recently started doing more work in SE London.  Did some v quick and efficient bathroom and boiler fixes for me; have also seen some of the bathrooms he's built, which have a nice attention to detail. • Totally agree regarding not supporting chains. Gail’s was fine but last time I went in Feb this year, actually walked out Fayetteville looking at menu and waiting 15 minutes to even get glass of water and not busy at all. Staff gone down hill - sooner it goes the better… Always prefer to support non chains - so many lovely places with good food to choose from with pleasant staff who know about customer service and sadly, non English which says a lot for our culture, pubs are also becoming abit of a hit and miss affair but maybe just unlucky. At the end of the day all about the chef. Still abit unclear where new place is located - is it down the road from Goose Green where parade of shops are before Peckham Rye?
    • Surely only where the local businesses offer clear advantages, otherwise you are rewarding what should be failure. I want to be served by a better bakery than Gail's, not a worse but local independent one. Certainly give a local independent some time to get the offer right, but don't buy goods which are worse and or more expensive just because the outlet isn't a chain.
    • Let’s just boycott all chains in favour of local businesses.  Places like Gail’s popping up everywhere has a very damaging impact on small businesses. It’s just the same as the new empanadas place but on a bigger scale. I’ll say it a million times more, we hold the power with our choices. Let’s use our power to look after ourselves and our environment (which includes small local family businesses). And yes, I also love Chacarero.
