Of course there's nothing wrong with eating food on public transport- how utterly ridiculous and petty to think otherwise!

Trains serve hot food to eat at your seat. Often hot food with distinctive odours.

Do the people moaning about food on the bus moan at the train companies for doing so?

Some people are not aware of what they look like when they are eating...

Obama looks cool, no matter what he's doing

I'm hoping he'll go on to be the Global Ambassador for eating in public

Personally I wouldn't have complained about Le Chandelier if it wasn't implied by the OP that it was closing - I was reminiscing on my brief encounter there 5 years ago and I guess in restaurant terms you are allowed to speak ill of the dead. I didn't complain at the time, I have a fair few poor experiences locally (and good ones too) but tend not to criticise local businesses if they are trying to succeed.

I think Otta was not serious, Foxy.

But really Fox, who are these "many women" who "make a big issue of it"?

I've never seen any. I've just seen a few mothers feeding their babies in relative privacy. They're hardly going out to "prominent (sic)" places specially to get their tits out to make a point. As it were.

You are an odd odd one Fox

People do go out, but not always for the reasons you might have in the past, with your attention seeking dances or card tricks. There seems to be a distorted thread of projected narcissism to your posts, not always tho often enough

"Look at me" or the imagined requirement to be 'looked at' in a new cafe, restaurant or bar. Or just somewhere in general.

Whereas you profess to go out 'to socialise' while others seem have alterior motives, in your mind anyway. Which is odd, as most just like to be out for the sake of a change, to hang out with friends or even on their own

Why project onto those people some kind of Ill perceived attention seeking behaviours?

And I've made an effort to not dig you out of late, but this thing you do is slightly strange

I was aware Otta was not being serious but thought I would elaberate on the subject...

Probably going back a few years when many of my friends were of child bearing age...

Seabag.. attention seeking dances or card tricks ???

FFS I was a Morris Dancer... I was an Entertainer .. I get asked to do card tricks...

Some people here sing... and Entertain people... Some people play in a band..

They all like the attention.. What entertainer doesn't ?

Foxy

The word Narcissist in itself is one used by people here wishing to show that they know long words....

Some people need to look up what the word actually means...

You can only really apply the word to someone you know fairly well. You cannot apply it to someone you have neveer met.

The only Mirror in my house is in my bathroom. and I do not have a pond in my garden..

And people go out to dinner or for coffee as some kind of performance ?

They go to places to act out what exactly, or are they going out as a dress rehearsal for when a new 'stage' opens for them to shine upon. Or even God forbid, actually just go out to enjoy the company of others, in a bar, restaurant or cafe

No, it's not irrelevant (sic).

If you had children you would know that a hungry child of breastfeeding age (and for quite a bit after, actually) needs to be fed, and not "wait till it gets somewhere a bit more private".

Unless you're one of those people who thinks you need to train a child from birth to eat (including drinking breast milk) only at times convenient to you, irrespective of the distress caused to the child as a result?

I wondered that as well.

A couple of weeks after registering and a load of aggressive, trolly and personal posts.

ETA: And strange that Grok isn't posting on this thread, though s/he is commenting on it in the lounge.

Here here.

Moaners have no idea about people's personal situations or reasons for eating on public transport - do you know that that person doesn't have to eat at a specific time for medical reasons? That they've not spent all day dealing with a sick loved one and the journey home is the first chance they've had to grab a bite to eat? No, you have no freaking idea what is going on with anyone so how dare people judge other people for getting on with their lives and satisfying a basic human need.

Religious hate crime is lower and most affects Muslims, Jews to a slightly lowers number and a small percentage of Hindus and Sikhs.   Real or perceived atrocities committed by Muslim extremists and the state of Israel will influence numbers  Anyone who has been to a protest against the war in Gaza will see mainly peaceful and good natured crowds including Jews against war. @CPR Dave stop making a fool of yourself. Corbyn cannot admit to being wrong.  He sprouted nonsense that Russia was not responsible for the Salisbury poisoning, would not be contrite about the accusations of anti-Semitism, and is partly to blame for Brexit. He may be principled and a decent person but is not a Messiah and ran a poor campaign in the 2019 general election, a gift for Johnson. I expect he would have been pants in dealing with COVID, and Johnson set a low bar. I'm with Miss Jean Brody on the Spanish Civil War.  It maybe not!
    • How does your mind work? This is a thread about a bakery that may be opening. Your grasp of history is extremely weak. Mosley’s fascists were opposed and defeated all over the east end, not with petitions either. The principal leadership in driving them back came from the Communist Party but it was a united, cross community movement. The Daily Mail provided constant support for the British Union of Fascists and, along with sections of the Conservative Party, echoed their racist rhetoric. Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose. Excuse my French. To characterise pro-Palestinian demonstrations attended by thousands of Jews among the hundreds of thousands of people from across British society as “protesting Jews’ rights to exist” or comparing them to Mosley’s blackshirts is frankly sickening. You should be utterly embarrassed and ashamed of yourself.
    • I really hope so too, but they aren't going to get much passing trade, and parking round there isn't easy. Fingers crossed.
    • What's your answer, then? Should the council raise council tax to employ double or treble or more the number of workers to spend all their time clearing leaves from every street every day? Leaves have been cleared from my street several times since leaf fall began, including as I say very recently. It's impossible to keep every street permanently clear, and the situation is made worse by heavy rain. My partner broke his ankle in several places a year or so back when he slipped on wet leaves. He didn't blame the council.
