It matters...at all costs!

Brie. Brie? BRIE? Brie as in fancy, faffy, condescending, patronising FRENCH cheese?

What you want is a big chunky slice of proper Chedder in yer buns. What are you, a hipster or something?

I wouldn't eat the French muck out of principle. Somerset Brie is perfect, better than anything the French could make. Same goes for cheddar, has to be from Somerset with the "West Country farmhouse" label.

Louisa.

?1.50 for a hot cross bun that size I don't mind! (See picture)

And let's assume Brick House pays the bakers the London living wage which I believe is ?9.40. I think pricing it at ?1.50 is a bargain!

Let's break it down, shall we?

According to this recipe http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/hotcrossbuns_397

it takes 2 hours to make 12 hot cross buns

2 x ?9.40 = ?18.80

Divided by 12 = ?1.566666666666667

And that's just labour. Rent, electricity and ingredients are missing!

I don't know if they do make their own Buns.. They might buy in... From where ever..

.. But like I said..(somewhere) I don't think ?1.50 is that expensive for a sit in..

If you go to the Cheese Block the French brie is amazing. Rubbery it certainly isnt.

Indeed - the Brie de Meaux that sits on that back shelf threatening to ooze over the edge is a spreadable delight and truly one of life's joys.

    • Blank canvas is best, people have all sorts of ideas/furniture/vision boards to get on with.  Clean. Crisp. Neutral. If anything, dressing with freshly baked bread, and flowers makes subtle difference.
    • I'd like to post a recommendation for Jerry Oscar of H.F.U. Ltd.   Jerry has just completed the renovation of my bathroom and I’m so happy with how it turned out.  My bathroom has a strange layout (with about a quarter of the room/floor space un-useable due to the stairs underneath), but he came up with some great ideas that have really made the most of the space - somehow he turned the room into a tardis and made room for a bath (previously only had a shower) AND even given me extra storage. He's a magician!  I felt he really cares about what he does and treated the project like it was his own home. He was also great to have around – super friendly, easy to talk to and raise any queries or concerns with the project, and he was very respectful of the space. He kept his tools tidy and made sure the bathroom was still usable while he worked, which made a big difference day to day. He doesn’t cut corners and clearly has high standards.  I’m honestly so pleased with how everything turned out. If you’re looking for someone reliable and skilled, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jerry. He does kitchens too, and if I ever redo mine, I’ll be giving him a call. • These Gents are amazing, we asked them to come and paint our whole house interior and fix a number of issues from previous paint jobs. They are professional, clean up after themselves and pay attention to every detail. Their work is outstanding and I can't recommend them enough, Brian and Malachi are incredible.
    • Fabion is an experienced plumber. I was connected with Fabion through an App when I had an emergency issue with my water tank in the loft. He fixed it.  He also came back to replace my taps in the kitchen. Since then Fabion has been able to help me with the following:  1. Putting up blinds - immaculate 2. Dismantling and reassembling beds x2 (30 mins flat)  3. Taking down big old doors Extremely professional. Clean - never leaves a mess. SO fast. Attends when he say he's going to attend. Friendly and kind.  I cannot recommend him more highly.
