re airport nearest to greenwich but not city airport

Hi need to fly to scotland after 5pm rush hour madness and wondered what the best airport would be to go to. Cant seem to find a map with them located on and the areas to work it out properly. Doh!

Stansted isn't nearest but it might be quickest

Why not City? Bear in mind you can check in about half an hour before take off, the amount of time you'd save on both the journey to the airport and the hanging around time's going to be at least an hour and probably more.

^Only downer about City is limited options on flight times and higher premium for the flight.

Compared to Gatwick/Standstead for eg.

Hear what you're saying and if it's too dear fair enough. Don't forget to factor in the price of Stanstead Express or Gatwick or whatever, how much your time's worth, and whether you're actually going to end up at an airport remotely near the city you're visiting!

Probably the cheapest way to get to London airports is the Easy Bus service from Victoria.

Like all Easy services the price goes up as the time shortens, so check the price and reserve asap

Have you thought of Greenwich to London Bridge to Gatwick. Avoids paying for xxx express.

That would be my suggestion. Make sure you get a ticket that allows you to travel on bith Thames Link and Southern trains though, they both go to Gatwick and you can buy a ticket that lets you use both services.

40 miles to Southend Airport by road, much like Gatwick via the M25 which is the quickest way. Just so you know.
