The Song Game

I've nicked this idea from another group, but basically, i will name a song title and artist. The next person has to do one of the following:

1) Post another song by the same artist OR

2) Post a different song and artist, however, the new song title must contain one of the words from the song title before it. Not from the artist, from the SONG TITLE.

3.) Extra points are awarded and admiring glances from fellow EDHeifers are guaranteed when the song titles are Mott the Hoople/Ian Hunter songs.

As the original thread was on the verge of exploding M. Creosote style because of it's gorging of 'pop' goodies I thought it best to start a new one with the original post. Here's the last few entries.

As you were.

    • How about the view of the EDT from over the road  with that palm tree in the middle of  the roundabout?
    • Hi, we’ve also had an increase of about 30% with no explanation on why the council is incurring in these costs.  no water, heating bills or works planned, just regular maintenance. It would be great to share information here on how things develop because if this continues to happen each year, services charges will be impossible to keep up with.
    • This is disingenuous nonsense. There was a massive jump in cycling, above the trend, during COVID (when public transport numbers also fell through the floor). Despite fewer workers commuting daily into central London, cycling is up on pre-pandemic levels, which is not true for other modes of transport. The number of people cycling in central London has more than doubled since 2000 and cyclists now out number motorists in the City.
    • Very thoughtful and illuminating post.  I've never been attacked, and seen few incidents over the years.  Most worrying has been road rage and whilst I have been in the right, you learn when not to challenge someone (difficult at times to say can you please give me space, look before you turn and the like).  When I first came to London you'd see the odd brawl outside a pub, but it felt worse when I lived in more rural areas - bored youths and more tribal (the Abingdon youths having a brawl with Didcot).  Had one break in, two cars and three bikes stolen whilst I have been in London, although all but one bike not particularly valuable.  Breaking into builders vans seems the current trend, and stealing some high end motors - the latter was common when I worked on this issue twenty years ago so hasn't been sorted. But ultimately most of us are decent people, and our kids grow up to be decent people.  Although my peer group is people like you DD so I am somewhat biased!  How much greed/Thatchers children has changed things over the last forty years I don't know.  Of course nothing wrong with individuals wanting to be successful and to be a new owner/occupier in this area now you need to have some money behind you rather than us old hippies who moved in when it was a very different area.  And the high costs of renting too. Good points on the gangs, sadly I don't know the solutions.  I work with younger children and sometimes wonder how it can go so wrong in a few years time.
