Peckham Rye One O Clock club-October update

Recommended Posts

I think that the One O'Clock club could do with some sort of official relaunch - there seems to be a constant fug of confusion surrounding what used to be a very straightforward and fantastic service. Rumours abound about whether it's opening or closing down, if it is open what days, whether the steam is running uphill or not etc. I've pretty much given up as its been closed the days I've been down there and I know others who feel the same. So sad to see it fizzle out. Could there be a re-launch, re-establishing open afternoon of some sort effectively saying 'we are here'! Rant over

totally agree wth you kittysailing. i think a lot of people just aren't bothering anymore (including me) because it's not always open when it should be. A real shame because it's such a valuable resource, especially for parents with 2 or more little ones.

To update: Ivydale Children's Centre have taken over the One O clock club from the Council. The Club hasn't opened up again yet because the decision needs to be ratified by the Governors at Ivydale. They haven't yet had a Governors meeting when this could be done. They will be running stay and play (One o Clock club) and a variety of other activities in the club building. It will be open soon, but I don't have an exact date.

When I know more I will post again.

Yes, Maz and Fushia, I have an update.

The takeover of the one O clock club has been approved by Governors. Ivydale Children's Centre are currently restocking toys and equipment. They are also recruiting staff to run it. As they don't yet have the staff, it will be opening after the Half-term break on Tuesdays 10-12 and soon on Thursdays 1-3. Sessions will be gradually increased, by January they expect to be running their full timetable and will be having a party then. As well as the one O clock club sessions they will be running open access arts and crafts and mother and toddler music sessions. Additionally there will be sessions for children with special needs and their parents.
