Thai Duck pop up

Just wanted to post a HUGE recommendation for the Thai Duck pop up restaurant at the Duck Egg Cafe on North Cross Road. We had a take away from there this evening (menu on their Facebook page) which was delicious, you can eat in too. The lady is delightful, and the food was so tasty - enjoy!

Finally got round to checking out Thai Duck tonight. Really delicious, ridiculously cheap, definitely the best Thai in the area. Seemed cruel that it was virtually empty while Thai Corner Cafe was heaving. They deserve to be doing really well.

Please try this place out. If we don't use it, we may lose it...

Just Fridays and Saturdays. It is BYO and they didn't charge us corkage.

We had sea bass and chicken wing starters, veg pad Thai, prawn green curry, pak choy and sticky rice. All for just over ?30. Can't pick a highlight because it was ALL so good...

Went there last night and it is one of the more authentic thai restaurants around London. Small menu but all dishes were very good. Highly recommended. Much much better than Thai Corner Cafe.

If anyone wants to try some very good thai, follow Tem Ban. Very good food and they do pop ups around London. They were recently at Brockwell Lido and Sydenham. Not sure where they are now.

Sadly that wouldn't be hard, from my (admittedly limited as I was so put off I stopped going) experience.

It started off relatively well then seemed to go downhill.

Another glowing recommendation, based on our first visit this evening.

Delicious meal-honestly couldn't fault it, wonderful atmosphere and warm and attentive service. What a wonderful addition to the area.

Can't believe we haven't tried this place sooner- will definitely be back!

We had a meal here Friday last (1st April)

8pm seems to be the optimum dining time.

The lady who served us was charming. The food was delicate and delicious.

Watch out for the red chillies. ?28 for two plus gratuity and a chilled bottle of white wine from Londis,

Lovely

Been twice in two weeks, loved it ! Food was soo good and was really reasonable, Our bills came to ?17 each, the no charge for corkage was a bonus, Portions were good, we could have ordered less, but wanted to try most of the menu. :)

    • I don’t believe them…
    • Can't believe this stunning tree, which looks beautiful whatever the season, has been lopped to make way for a metal monstrosity. Vandalism!
    • Has anyone tried to take a van to Southwark's recycling centre recently? It seems every year they try to make it more difficult. You now need to give 3 days notice, are limited to 4 trips per year and the latest wheeze is limiting van users to a one hour slot in the morning, timed to coincide with rush hour and the school run: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/recycling/recycling-centres/reuse-and-recycling-centre/?chapter=2 Van access is restricted to 8.30am and 9.30am on the date you have selected when booking. You must complete all unloading and leave the site during this time. This is due to vans generally taking much longer to unload and can obstruct or cause hazards to other site users because of their larger size. This is bizarre as a different page says that The busiest times are on Saturdays, Sundays and at the start and end of each day. You may have to queue if you visit during these times. There's usually no queue between 10am to 3pm on weekdays. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/recycling/recycling-centres/reuse-and-recycling-centre How can they claim to be worried about hazards to other users then force van users to visit at the busiest times? Living in a carfree household and relying occasionally on Zipcars, a majority of which seem to be (Zip)vans in the ED area now, these changes seem as unnecessary as they are annoying. But I only visit the centre once or twice a year, maybe others have different experiences and views?
