Sainsburys DKH - queue update please

Recommended Posts

Is anyone at Sainsbury's DKH?

I need to collect one thing from Argos, I've been about 4 times and turned back cos of queue.

Just wondering - when is a good time to go?

Thanks!

You don?t have to wait in the big queue for collections. Go to the door and there should be someone there who can go get your order and bring it back.

We went to pick up something ordered online at argos and they let us jump the queue - but they are very strict you are escorted straight out and not allowed to bunk into sainsburys - very frustrating as there were lots of discounted post-Easter eggs on display!

Started queuing at 10.50am, got into the store 11.35am, 45min wait with the queue all the way out and starting to go UP Dog Kennel Hill.

SOME people are still yet to grasp the concept of what 2m actually is, rather than them thinking 2m is is akin to 8 or 10m, which results in the queue being much longer than it needs to be.

There's never a good time to go and you just have to take pot luck!

Went on Tuesday morning and queued for around 25 minutes. As I got towards the front a couple sauntered towards the front of the queue and asked about the Argos situation but were re-directed to go back to the end of queue. I did feel for them but maybe Argos should be updating their website.

I got in the que yesterday at 10am, I didn't get in the shop till 11.30, they seem to be letting less people in at once.

also the barrier down the middle of the self service till has now created less space, so if the person at the nezt till wants to get pass you, they will now pass nearer to you.

Just an FYI on the click and collect from this store, I used this for the first time earlier in the week. I didn't want my substitutes and was told I could refuse them but they didn't have a scanner at the truck so would process them later in the store. Sadly they weren't processed.

When I managed to speak to a manager and get my refund, he told me that they are supposed to have a scanner in the truck to process rejected items.

I would also recommend pulling into a free space and checking your shop before leaving. I was missing a tray of items.

Argos have a big poster on the exit doors mentioning that you may have to join the Sainsbury's queue to collect items from them.

Even if this were true (it isn?t) it would make no difference to how long you have to queue. Better than too close.

Where you there?

Because I was, and saw how people can't judge what 2m is, if people significantly over estimate the distance, then guess what, it does lengthen the queue and makes queuing much longer, i.e. twice as long as the previous week(S).

I know how long queuing took to get in.

My main gripe with the queue are people glued to their phones that they don't see that people have moved down.

When I went to DKH on Tuesday afternoon, it was certainly busier that in recent weeks, I had to wait 30 mins at 2.30, getting in at 3pm.

But but it?s not the length of the queue that dictates how long people queue for but the number of people in the queue which would be the same whether they stand 2m apart or 10m apart

Was there this morning at 11.30ish. It moved pretty quickly (speed of entry of course unrelated to standing distance but everyone observing the 2 metre rule). The end of queue was by the main gates and it took around 20 mins. The timings do vary a bit depending on how long people are spending in the shop but my last few visits have seen a reasonable speed. The longest I've waited was when the queue was almost on to Dog Kennel Hill and that was about 40 mins.

About 25-30 mins, late this morning, approx 11.20am the queue was outside the main gates, probably about six people but moving relatively smoothly. On leaving the queue had improved and was approx half way along the back wall of the car park.

there was a fight in the que today, between the front door and starbucks door there was a massive gap as a man was too busy looking at his phone. An elderly lady pushed in front of him and he went ballistic the abuse he gave this woman was terrible, he called her every name under the sun.

the lady standing in front of me let her go infront of her and when it was her turn to get in the shop one of the staff refused to let her in, they were demanding she go and que up where the traffic lights were. the elderly lady says she can't stand for long, so like a teacher giving a detention the staff mem er tells her you can sit inside for 45 minutes then you can do your shopping when I tell you.

now I've noticed this staff love making mountains out of molehills, they love the sound of their own voice.

The staff ignored the abuse this man gave.

And even a massive looking queue in Bell Green is only 10-15 minutes and then all is good. if you can get there..

I've been to DKH and seen the queue and then gone back up the Lane and seen zero people queueing at Coop and gone there.

Source BBC News - Sadiq Khan pledges to help make London the 'best city in the world' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68968813   All great pledges but so many questions.  1. Where will the extra money come from to deliver all this ?  2. In times when police are leaving in ever decreasing numbers and recruitment is hard, how will he put more police on the streets ?  3. Rough sleeping, no matter what is done, some still choose that way of life, so what's his plan in that case ?  4. How will he directly create new jobs ?  A lot of political hot air and personally I want to revisit what he actually achieves in 4 years to see if there was a justification in a third term.
