  1. One of the recycled rubber picnic tables in the park has been damaged by someone placing a disposable BBQ on top of it and melting it! A dedicated area is an interesting idea!
  2. The car ablaze at 5am was quite a spectacle.
  3. To the Scutari Rd resident that dumped a suitcase and microwave oven in PRP, your description and address have been passed to the park warden! Southwark Council offer a free waste collection facility. Hopefully you'll use it next time.

  5. Talk about 'Crack a nut with a sledgehammer'! The lady's not dangerous, just different. Being aware of her is more than enough.
  6. She does have problems. Sometimes she's quite nice, so if you're aware and can suffer her outbursts without getting too upset, your encounters with her may be easier.
  7. 2 1/2 weeks for a renewal, if that helps.
  8. Previously it was decorative plants, rather than produce.
  9. Thieves have stolen a couple of pumpkins from the Community Wildlife Garden in Peckham Rye Park. Grown from seed in one of the raised beds, tended by local schools. The pumpkins were not even ripe! The garden is only open during the day, so the thief would've been pretty obvious carrying out the pumpkin! This isn't the first theft from the garden. Previously, plants have been dug up and taken. Can nothing nice be left alone for the whole community to enjoy?
  10. The humps were installed today. (Carefully ridden cycles can get round them)

Pugwash Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think there is an Eid event on the Rye this > weekend - that will probably upset a few people The Eid event is not planned to have music, but will have a PA system for announcements (and possibly 'Call to Prayer') I wouldn't imagine the event should upset too many people.
  12. David's funeral will take place on Aug 22nd at 3pm, Honor Oak Crematorium.
  13. It's Thames Water fixing a pipe.
  14. DJKillaQueen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- FOPRP didn't lobby for this, but were consulted by the Parks Department whose initiative it is and are in support.
  15. Who said that?
  16. It'S all gone dark
  17. The Cats Mutha Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- Didn't you think it would've been better to rush the poor animal to the emergency vet? You could only see the external injuries and would've had no idea whether there were any internal ones. Edited because some of my post was more arguementative and frankly none of my business and the rest I'd already posted on this thread.

There are not going to be any on the cycle/pedestrian path that runs almost parallel to Strakers Rd. Safer to use than the road too.
  19. Strakers Road is a 5mph road. I doubt many people, if any observe the limit or anywhere near it. Some of speeds people travel down that road are just dangerous. What's the rush there anyway? The sooner the humps are installed, the better. I'm sure the questioning of this consultation would be very different, if it was a reaction to a fatality.
  20. Such sad news after so much hope! Condolences to the family.
  21. Half page spread on page 7 of the Metro today. Let's hope this brings results and he's home soon.
  22. Re posters/fliers, could any of the local councillors help with getting these printed?
  23. Was the Waterloo sighting confirmed? Could he have been trying to get to somewhere and is there anywhere in his history where trains from Waterloo may go to, that may have some sort of connection ie Southhampton etc? Just thinking that it may be worth looking further afield within the UK. I've been FB'ing and Tweeting this relentlessly and will continue to do. I also postered Elephant & Castle tube station and encourage anyone with the facility to poster to do so anywhere they can.
  24. The 'Chair' of FOPRP has spoken to the Park Manager regarding the early closing of the the garden. Hopefully, this will resolve the recent problem. On another note, the garden's monthly maintenance programme will take place this sunday 6/5/12. The garden will be closed to the public. Volunteers very welcome, meet at 2pm at the garden.
