I don't own a Staffy but will in the future and I will adopt one. These are marvelous dogs, you need to socialise all breeds at the earliest opportunity, i.e puppy socialisation classes, over the park etc, training classes are brilliant too. There are quite a few Staffs over Peckham Rye park who are very well behaved and socialised, they are great with children, they do like any breed need a couple of walks EVERY day, but that goes without saying, I have always been comfortable with dogs so I don't know how it feels not to be, but if you do get a pup, don't act afraid or be too nervous around it because it will pick that up from you, be confident (this applies to any breed) I reckon you'll fall in love with it in no time :) and be patient, especially with house training etc, they all have to learn, just like we do, good luck, keep us updated x

Neighbourhood vets have been great with my dogs :) -
Maybe depends on the type of dog ;)

Its not impossible to keep a house with pets as clean as a house without, my 2 are not shedding breeds and they are small so they don't traipse mud or wet into the house, they are clean too, never pee in the house. If landlords were to ask for a bit more deposit then if any damage is done but the dog, they keep it, if not give it back. We booked a caravan holiday once, the whole family went, so we booked 5 or 6 caravans, because we have 2 dogs we got a smelly old caravan! My house is not smelly so why would they think I would want to stay in that. I have been in peoples houses with no pets and they are rank. In my opinion smoking is worse.

Same in the park, I make my dog wait when parents and children go whizzing past on bikes, they can see her waiting and I reckon 2 out of 10 say thank you, not a good lesson in front of the children, manners cost nothing

They don't hibernate and doubt very much that they would go anywhere near you or your dog or a small child, they are afraid of us in general

Yes the lady should have not walked away,I doubt she feared the woods, had it been me I would have tried to smooth things over with you, all dog owners are accountable for anything there dog might do, shame :( hope your ok and Happy new Year!
-
I'm not sticking up for the lady, but sometimes those woods are quite desolate and quiet, the dog may have seen the guy come from nowhere and ran in to protect his owner, not saying its right before I get jumped on, but I know my dog is wary if anyone appears from nowhere, she wouldn't bark but would be aloof. I also wonder wether in this day of "Dangerous dogs" etc this lady was scared that if she admitted the dog bite then the guy might have said he wanted the dog put to sleep, don't know but could be a factor?

Sonos are the best, we have one upstairs and one downstairs and on my phone :) best gadget Handsome Husband has bought!

Re dog outside caf?, its a real bugbear of mine, DO NOT leave your dogs outside anywhere, they are stolen from cars, outside shops, caf?s, gardens anywhere. Poor dog must wonder what the Hells going on being left outside and in cold weather even worse.
-
Ooh you horrible lot!
-
Yep I have dogs and agree they should be onlead around the pond, especially with the cygnet there
-
If my husband had ever asked me to do that, it would have been over his dead body

They quoted us ?340 for 6 stairs, so we bought it from them and got EJ Carpets from Forest Hill to fit it, worked out at ?200 all in from what I remember, they weren't happy when we just asked for the carpet, very rude to my husband and dismissive, but we wanted to carpet so put up with it! EJ Carpets were very efficient and cheaper
