  2. I went to Aske's Boys. It is still there, but is now totally mixed. In my day (89 - 96) it was seperate boys and girls schools with mixed 6th form. I believe the old girls school is now the lower school, whilst upper school and 6th form are now at the boys school. Couldn't say if these changes have been for better or worse. What I do know is that the head of music John Skinner is still there, and that can only be a good thing. A more passionate and devoted teacher I never had.

  4. I know Bent has been a let down thus far, but to be fair, he was coming in to a new club with 3 well established strikers, one of which (Defoe) could barely get a game, so I'm not really surprised he didn't set the world alight. However, he is still young (what is he, 23 / 24?), and I saw him play several times for Charlton, and he has talent! I think he will grab his chance now, and I hope he does.

    Cash or class

What, you're indulging in some immediate gratification?

Totally agree that it seems a lot of cash, but I do think he'll net a few and suit Torres well. As for Spurs, what Piers said! Maybe Bent will start earning his money...
  7. I love swearing, but do try to use it sparingly so as to give it extra effect... My mate who could represent Britain in a swearing contest told me the other day that his hotmail account was closed down for him swearing too much. I didn't think that was possible!
  8. I think I have to be at a friend's birthday drinks. Sorry, I am not doing very well at getting to these recently.
  9. Have to agree with Brandan, Kevin Smith films all the way! Also, the closing speach in Team America always cracks me up!

Honestly the way Paddies pronounce 'party' cracks me up. Filum, that's amother one.
  11. No doubt history doesn't show us in a good light, in fact it doesn't really show us in a good light anywhere, but these days I think we are just as patriotic as the next lot. As you said Sean, knobs are knobs, wherever they're from. I have met some complete cocky w@nkers from Ireland, and been best mates with Irish people, I'm pretty sure the cocky w@nkers would have been equally as cocky had they been born in Dulwich, Glasgow or Paris, and I still would have been mates with the nice ones.
  12. Do the Irish seriously find the English arrogant?
  13. Looks like Keane is coming to Liverpool. I'm surprised at Spurs letting him go, but apparently he's a lifelong Liverpool fan, so maybe a dream move. I like the idea of him and Torres up front! Feel rather sorry for Gareth Barry who is now in a horrid situation.
  14. Yes happy birthday Huguenot, and Moos!!! I feel rotten today having had a stag do camping trip followed by my birthday! Bit of advise, if you ever decide to swing on a rope in to a river, TAKE OFF YOUR WEDDING RING!!!!!!!!!!! :-$
  15. Many thanks. I'm off to The Plough to drink.
  16. I must admit I was a big Turtles fan.
  17. And don't forget you can all have hair of the dog at The Plough on Saturday 2nd when we're doing open mic :)-D
  18. Can't do this weekend, but would be up for it another time if you're ever short, and very desperate, which frankly you'd have to be! :-S

  22. *groans* Mr Lush, that is well below your normal high standards!
  23. My grand parents ran pubs, and they brewery even funded a posh boarding school for them to send the kids away to, so they were laughing!

  25. Most make no mention of alcohol on the label on the little bottle (the one with the dosage and your name). If they make a point of telling you to avoid alcohol on that label, then avoid it. If it says nothing, then you'll probably be okay.
