  1. Bad news Asset, hope it all heals up! So is it some sort of tendon pull or smething? Did you manage to book any courts for next week BTW?
  2. We rode our luck, and maybe got lucky with the penalty shout, but we played well, and I'm happy with that. It's half time, and I expect next week to be very tight, but for now I'm happy.
  3. Bugger, didn't see this, and would have liked to.
  4. Good, you're usually on my team ;-) So, Ally are you still on tonight, as it looks like a 4th player may be needed...
  5. I love the place for all it's cheeseyness! Would hate to see it go, especially if replaced by a Dartmouth/Dolphin type place (that's nothing against them, but they are not needed on LL!). Interestingly (perhaps :-S), there is a very similar tex mex place opposite the Dolphin in Sydenham!
  6. Superb! >:D
  7. And for the record, it was Kel not me who said anything at all about 40s!!!
  8. "There's something about Betty"... Yeah there is http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/445000/images/_448037_crawford_spencer_150.jpg :-S
  9. How did you know?
  10. Bit of a trek to take the risk though!
  11. Brendan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > c) Wilma (from the Flintstones) - If I?m going to do a cartoon it has to be Jessica Rabbit or nothing! Dude, surely Daphne from Scooby Doo?!? Actually the Wilma in the Flintstones film was quite nice if memory serves. > g) Mary (as in virgin) - Now that would be a good story to tell your mates in the pub. Yeah but judging by her name, it would cost you so much drink to get her in the sack, you wouldn't be able to afford the pub for months!
  12. The diving thing is part of the modern game, but some players do it more than others. In recent years Ronaldo and Drogba have been particularly guilty, but Simon is right to say that Gerrard is not above the occasional tumble (who could forget that glorious piece of play to win the penalty against Shefield United in the opening game of last season?!?!?). Micheal Owen has admitted before that he will dive. As he said, it's not like he runs at someone with the intention of going down, but if someone sticks a foot out in the penalty box, and he has the choice of trying to stay on his feet and chasing a ball, or going down and being awarded a penalty, then it's a no brainer. The diver who has made me laugh/cry over the years is Heskey! I have more time for him than most people seem to, but he's built like a brick out house (they don't call him Bruno for nothing), and so many times he'd go down like he'd been shot, when actually you were thinking why don't you just shrug the challenge off and keep going!
  13. You bloody liar! ;-)
  14. Am I being dim, I don't get the "he shoots he scores" thing :-S
  15. I'm 30 this year, so feel I can take part.... You haven't given us much there though to be honest. Grace would win it on the looks front I think (having just done google image check), but can't comment on personality as never watched it. Mary (something about) was meant to be every blokes ideal, so not really fair, there's just like... something about her you know. I think I'm going with Ros (although from Fraiser I'd prefer Daphne to be honest).
  16. Good bloody point, will have to set the timer as it clashes with the footy!
  17. Badminton site with court diagrams and rules Have had a good read of this site, as wouldn't mind playing a structured game sometime, sounds simple enough. Only the serving player/team can win a point, if the other team win a rally, they then win the "right to serve", and you keep serving until the other player/team wins the right back. In that sense the scoring is more like squash. The far back line is the same for singles and doubles, but the side line is the wider one in doubles. Not saying I want to get all competetive, but I think having a game would make me run around a bit more and get more out of it. Anyone else interested? Happy to carry on as we are if not.
  18. I don't think anyone (outside of Man U) will forget what he did, I personally think he's a horrid little tosser. BUT, he is a fantastic player, and that I can't deny.
  19. Now now boys, lets not get personal for f**ks sake. Come on Atila, I also said I hoped you had a crap night, it was a joke meaning I hope you're not happy when you leave the ground, nothing more. And to be fair to Sand person, he inherited his team from his dad, which is fair enough (my God, I'd be Arsenal had I done the same *shudders*) Right, Mrs Keef has just told me she has a load of work on tonight, and I'll be in the way if I stay home, so looks like I'm watching the match after all...
  20. LOL, you deserved that one PGC! ;-) Badminton does indeed seem to be very popular, Mrs Keef and I have been trying to get a game up in Sydenham, and it's been fully booked the last 2 weeks. I'm gutted as was getting really in to it, and don't want to let it slip. Count us in next week if you can get the courts... Enjoy this evening. Do you have a spare racket for TT?
  21. Don't listen to them Ally, you actually live in one of the nicer parts of ED, near Hornimans. MP is on the Peckham borders! ;-)
  22. I was literally considering not watching at all, and just loking at the score after... I can always check highlights if it's a good score :-S
  23. Ladygooner Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > May the best team win tonight! Quite right, hope it's a good game with no nonsense penalties or sending offs, just a good contest. Normally I'd be in the pub, but I feel really nervous about this one (more so than I have about the Chelsea matches in recent years).
