  2. Not Malcolm? My Dad had a friend called Malcolm who fell / jumped (we never knew which) I'd guess early 90's (can't relly remember how old I would have been at the time).
  3. Dawson Heights aren't empty as far as I know.
  4. Oi, who's bloody Rob Winton, what's wrong with my photo (other than the fact his is better) :(
  5. See that's what I disagree with. I think the view from Hornimans is great if you include the flats... Mockney, I think I posted a pic of said view on flickr, but can't access from work. Would you mind popping it in a post so people can see... I know it's not a pretty building, but it's interesting, and like I say, when the lights are on it's fantastic! Besides, you can't see that much of it from Hornimans anyway.... You'll be wanting the trees moved next, and even then the view is rubbish because it's usually so hazy you can barely see past Camberwell ;-)
  6. RE Carra, I totally understand his position, and genuinely think he should have been partnering Terry at the back for some time (and I swear that's not just said as a Liverpool fan). I think he will play in these coming games, cos he always said he wouldn't leave his country in the lurch if he was really needed... Still don't think he'd keep the place though, and don't blame him for not wanting to go to all these England camps, just to end up on the bench!!! We are talking about a central defender who has played a huge part in taking his club to 2 champs league finals in 3 years! Changing the subject, I'm glad Owen Hargreaves will be playing in England, I really rate him, and thought he got a lot of unfair stick under Sven! Just a bloody shame he'll be playing for Man U!
  7. Costs a fortune (over here) though!
  8. Ah Dawson's Heights, much hated block, that I can't help being rather fond of... At night it improves, not ruins the view.
  9. I know, that was a bugger! He had to come off in his Cardiff debut aswell, and they're worried he'll miss the beginning of the season... Along with Jamie Rednapp, Fowler was one of the most injury blighted careers in football! Both could have had good England careers had injuries not plagued them so badly!
  10. *Gags* I don't like any white lagers, just taste minging!
  11. I too was sad to see him go, but he was never going to get a big role this time round, so hopefully he can keep fit, play regularly and score a load of goals for the Welsh team that somehow play in our league :-S He has been an absolute God over the years, and he always got the biggest cheer when his name was read out before a match at Anfield! In fact, something for the Arsenal fans out there...... >:D
  12. Oh Anna, Hoegaarden is so so wrong mate!
  13. F**king hell, some people really do need to get a life (mentioning no names)! Who gives a sh!t what shops are on Lordship Lane, it's a long road, if you don't like a shop, ignore it and go to another one! There are plenty of places around East Dulwich that I'm not overly keen on, but I can't be arsed wasting my life getting stressed about it, there's enough to get stressed about at work, without adding more...
  14. Agree (with Jah about strikers), but Van Nistleroy had an immediate inpact at Man U (Boo hiss), so hopefully we'll get lucky.... At least Torres has plenty of Spanish speakers at Liverpool to help him fit in... Only doen side was losing Louis Garcia! Must get down the Hamlets more this season, last years effort from myself was pretty poor.
  15. I'm a lot more excited about this season than I have been for a few years, what with the arrival of Torres at Liverpool! However, I suspect after a couple of matches I'll be writing off another title charge! We just seem to be incapable of consistency! Always feel quite confident about getting somewhere in the cups though, I do think we're one of the better cup sides. Charlton have been my second team since I fancied a Charlton mad girl about 11 years ago, so I will try and get to the valley to see how they get on in the Championship....
  16. God this is dull. Look, like it or not, White Stuff has played, and will continue to play a massive part in the life of East Dulwich for years! Despite the best efforts of the local doormen, it's rife on Lordship Lane every weekend. Am I missing something :-S
  17. Just on the bend at the very top of Dog Kennel Hill, opposite the Sally Army place.
  18. Agree with Jah, that the CPT and The Castle are the only 2 left I'd call proper pubs... EDT and possibly the new look Plough are more pubs than bars I guess. I liked Hoopers, but bless them, the location is sh!t, and I worry that they'll always struggle to get punters through the door... I'm obviously a huge CPT fan, but I would actually say that I think Inside 72 has a certain something that none of the others have. As for the Canning, I've always had a nice time when I've gone there with Mockney Piers, it's just a bit out the way. As someone else said though, it's all a matter of opinion, and different tastes... Scor46 you love Green & Blue, and whilst I'm not saying there's anything at all wrong with the place, it's not my cup of tea... Different folks, different strokes and all that. Anyway, cheers :)-D
  19. No idea what my favourite real ale is, as whenever I enjoy one, I tend to have several pints, and can't remember what it was called the next day. Used to drink nothing but Guinness, but these days I'm more a a lager man. In the CPT I always drink Grolsch, so guess I'd call that my top choice. Enjoy cans of Red Stripe and Heineken, bottles of Budvar (NOT BUDWEISER!!!!!!!!). Can't stomach the likes of Carlsberg, Carling or Fosters, just watery gassy crap that always gives me hicups :-S Agree with Brendan though.
  20. As Mockney said, when it first opened as The Vale, it was a bit of a novelty to have somewhere open til 2, with a dancefloor, so it was very busy every Friday and Saturday night. However, it soon got boring, and the owner did absolutely nothing to make it a friendly attractive place to go. He just wants to be seen standing there on the door doing his best Kray impression. Shame, because we had some good laughs in there, and could do with a good place to go. As for how it's still surviving, I guess we spent so much money in there when it opened, they're still living off that.
  21. Was that the one where he'd gotten old and then got young again? :-S
  22. Ha, yep the rest of the films were shockers (well the ones I saw, 2 & 3), and I never even watched the series. The first film was great though! I loved that big fella who played the bad guy (and got to kill Sean) (6)
  23. Nice :-S
  24. Oh my God she's awesome!!!!!!!!
