  1. If I remember rightly, Snorky told the story on this forum of a load of people petitioning to keep it open, who had never ever, and probably would never ever actually go in and buy a drink.
  2. >:D
  3. My new mission in life is to enter the london marathon... Get a cab to the last mile, and run along next to the compeitors blowing smoke in their faces! (by which time they'll have run 25 miles, and will be really gasping, and so will inhale a good bit... That'll teach the fit gits!) >:D< Come on people, it's bad enough we can't smoke in the pub, but it's happened, and we'll deal with it. But saying we can't stand outside.... Surely you breathe in more cr@p from passing cars!?!?!?
  4. Overproof IS evil! Havana 7 anyone???
  5. No worries with me mate. Was just pulling your leg as "Mother I'd like to f**k" just sounded a little bit wrong ;-)
  6. *Walks in wearing dreadlock wig* "Peace be the journey" *Takes out bottle of over proof rum* "Anyone got any lime?*
  7. The Burger place is absolutely awful for that!
  8. Jah Jah Jah, everyone know's it's MUM I'd like to f**k, you posh people ;-)

  10. The real shock here as far as I'm concerned is that Louisa is sticking up for a place like this! ;-) Soz L, couldn't resist. I've never liked the place, it's tacky, and for some reason reminds me of the boozer that turned in to the pink bar in Brush Strokes. (classic 80's TV!) :-S
  11. Only been in the Gowlett once. Thought it was okay, but it didn't feel very pubby, which is odd being that it has a pool table.
  12. Wouldn't be surprised, it is America ;-) CWALD makes a good point, I've stood and chatted to / shared a joke with blokes I've seen about, but would probably never have really talked to if we hadn't been stood out having a smoke.
  13. I believe you can get white pudding in the Irish shop. Having read Bignumber5's post, I'm thinking of following Mrs Keef's axample and going veggie! Right thought about it, then remembered steak and kebabs! >:D<
  14. I seriously doubt it will have made any noticeable difference yet. I did note that the inside of the CPT was totally empty on Sunday because we were all outside smoking, and those who didn't smoke came and sat with us, because they know who the really cool people are!!! ;-) For the record, I actually seem to be smoking more when I'm out, which I am definitely noit happy about! You go out for a ciggie, and because you've made the effort, you double up. Then your mate comes out as you're finishing, so you have another one with him! You can't bloody win!!!!!! Oh, and as for the health of the staff, the CPT staff made up most of our smoking table on Sunday :)-D Not making any points there as such, just observations. But as for anyone who actually moans because they have to walk past smoke on the way in/out the pub... Come on!!!!!!
  15. Now I'm no vegetarian, but black pudding, come on, it's blood and fat!
  16. Agree with Sean RE music in Inside72. That's the reason I rate it.
  17. I'm liking the idea of a walk in the woods followed by pints, followed by holding on to Jah's jumper sleeve and hoping he didn't have that one tooo many :)-D I remember going up there at night a couple of times, but didn't venture too far in, it really is pitch black!
  18. There used to be loads of urban legends about the tunnel, like a train full of gold and dead bodies in there, but al bo!!ocks... I love those woods, and spent much of my childhood having adventures in there! I think to this day the tunnel is one of the spookiest settings around, and if anything the huge metal doors blocking it just add to the atmosphere! So much interesting stuff in those woods though, like the little ruined chapel. Must take the camera up there for a walk soon!!!!
  19. I've always found it okay, but I'm 28 :-S 29 in a couple of weeks if that changes anything...
  20. Only been once (about 2 years ago), and food was really nice... However, service was terrible, and staff not friendly!
  21. The CPT is my second home, so no surprises I'd put it top :)-D Down "The Lane", I think Inside 72 would be my top choice, but it's too small, and not nice when it gets chocka. Black Cherry next. EDT and The Bishop okay I guess, but too busy. Mag is a bit souless, but I do like the big round tables, and the pizzas are good. Not tried the new Plough yet... Agree with Sean RE Bar Story!
  22. When I lived in Liverpool I was amazed how friendly people where, and how many "hellos" and smiles I'd get! The first time I went up there I was lost and asked (nervously) a lady for directions... She was so nice, and almost walked me to the bus stop. I remember thinking then (this was 1996 when I was 17) that I wouldn't get that in SE London! Not saying there are no friendly people here, but in general I think people are too busy rushing around and worrying about things to stop and be friendly...
  23. There's a long thread all about tapas HERE.
  24. What sort of teenagers don't drink anyway?!?!? :-S Seriously, I'd imagine they'll be happy hanging around in Covent Garden where you get all the street entertainment. Jeremy makes a good point, the ice skating place in Stretham is okay so long as they're pretty streetwise... Same goes for bowling in Lewisham.
