No no, they take Nells too. ;-)
  2. Agree that any place that won't give tap water to customers who're paying good money for other stuff is out of order! Shame, as GandB were doing very well on this forum for customer service :-S As for The George, I've never found it overly expensive... Are we talking the same place, cobbled alleyway off the high street? Would tend to go for Market Porter if in that area :))

Edie is my nan's name. Is it still short for Edith, or are people just putting Edie on the birth certificate / christening records (in order to get in to the right school)? ;-)
  4. I hope you don't actually own a gun mate, you seem very keen to shoot things! ;-)
  5. Was indeed!!!

Know one of each... Archy had an American mum, which I think explains that.... George is an ED boy, I've known since we were kids, and Freddie is a Peckham lad now a copper!
  7. I take it she never watched the 96 FA Cup final then!!! Bloody Cantona!!! Most boring match I've ever sat through!!!! Aaaaanyway, old wounds and all that :-$

Was chatting to Mrs Keef about names yesterday (no we don't have any "news"), and we were commenting on how names are fashionable at different times with different "groups".... Something like Emily is timeless, and will always be popular, as will Matthew, David.... basically biblical names... However, we were thinking of things like Chloe... All the Chloes that I've known of my sort of age group have been from rather middle class type backgrounds, but now, it's not popular at all with the yummy mummies, and is viewed as a bit "chav" (a word that I no longer like) name.... On the other hand, Jack and Max are really rather popular with the YMs, but those are names which used to be far from posh...... "Jack the Hat".... ;-) Can people think of other names that have done a similar turnaround? Aaaanyway, just a conversation we had that I thought I'd share because I'm bored :-S PS. Sorry to any Chloes out there, I think it's a lovely name!
  9. It is a good idea, but not the Vile please! 2 Years ago, myself and I've-met-Jimmy watched the final in the EDT (I have no idea why we turned our backs on out beloved CPT for the night), so this time we're torn between CPT (Spiritual home), and EDT (for superstitious reasons)...... Oh what to do?!?!?!? :-S

  11. Do foxes eat ducks? ;-) I know what Louisa is saying, I know lots of people nip there with the dogs, or walk across the green, but it feels like they could just make more of it...... That said, I have no suggestions as to how :-S
  12. Sean you can edit your post if you want to mate... ;-)
  13. Part of that was down to nerves I think... Final would probably be much more exciting..... Think I'll be staying in tonight, as I celebrated with tequilla last night, and can still taste it now!!!! Work has sucked today!!! :(
  14. I know what you mean!!! Also people complain about buildings popping up in any spare bit of land, but that happens there too!!! I was shocked last time I went down there with my dad (about4 or 5 years back), to find that the old park with the lake had been completely built over!!! Still a lovely little village though. Ahh memories of clambering up hay tor :)) Used to like Teignmouth too. As for this weekend, I shall mostly be doing not a lot (tu)
  15. I was in the CPT (just for a change ;-) ) with I've-met-Jimmy (another red), and it's usually a pretty Chelsea heavy pub, but when we scored, the whole place seemed to be cheering!!! That said, I think neutrals were going for Liverpool last night!!! As for tonight, I'm not sure.... If there was one team I'd love to beat in a champs league final it would be Man U!!!!! However, I think I'd fancy our chances more against AC....... That said, they'd be desperate to beat us after last time..... So many things to think about!!! >:D<
  16. We used to go to Devon every year for our summer holidays cos my nan lives down there in Bovey Tracey neat Dartmouth. Beautiful part of the world! Should actually make the effort to get down and visit her, she is 90 this year!!!!! :-S
  17. Was he the gay one who did kids tv for a while after that? Annoying tw@t...... Like most BB contestants to be fair ;-)

    Quiet room...

*Thinks to self "It is very quiet on the forum today.... Maybe everyone is having to do work.... I hate having to do work, especially when I feel like a rhino has trampled on my head!!!"*

    Godwin's Law

Piers, I linked back to your example yesterday when a thread got in to Hitler territory. That's why this has come up. Again though, it was done in good humour! :)
  23. Culture is fine, when you can make the choice for yourself!... In my opinion anyway.
