    Rant!!

I noticed this when walking across Goose Green the other day. It's fecking out of order!

Do you think she > managed a quick debrief in the bogs before she > spoke to the waiting media? I heard her, and frankly, she was too emotional to be impartial about it. She believes in what she believes (or else she wouldn't have been there), and they gave her the air time in which to have a god rant.
  3. My friend and I were discussing this the other day (well sort of, we were talking about the number 1s when our kids were born). When his son was born, "America" by Razorlight was at number 1, so he went out and bought the single, and plans o give it to his son for his 18th birthday. Unfortunately, my daughter was born when was at number 1. I feel that if I give this to her for her 18th, I'll have to supplement it with a pill! As an aside, my birthday number 1 was "Youre the one that I want" from Grease. I'm jealous of my friend who is a few months older than me, as he got Wuthering Heights, which I think is a cool one.
  4. See, I mention Sydenham, and everyone else has to get a vote in for their areas! ;-)
  5. I grew up in ED, and my parents still live ther, and I think a lot of peple my age couldn't afford to buy a place there, or could afford to, but would rather get more for their money elsewhere. I'm going to put in a shout for Sydenham. It's a 10 minute bus ride from ED, so everything you could want from ED is easily accessible, but the houses are a bit cheaper (and generally nicer), and it is just a lot greener, with more trees and stuff. Hornimans is on the doorstep, and we have Wells Park, which is a lovely little park! I won't say what we pay in rent, but our house is nicer than anything I've seen on offer in ED, and about ?500 a month cheaper than something of the same size in ED.
  6. We took our daughter to a very hot Venezuela at 9 months, and jus used Boots Soltan Baby, which was fine, and did the job. As has been said though, best thing is to try and keep them out of the sun. One of those little sun tent things is a good idea.
  7. Agree regarding Terry, he's a nasty c**t, if youll excuse my language. I like Joe Cole, and to be honest, I've not got too much against Lampard. Not a fan of Defoe.
  8. Haven't posted on this thread in months, and don't intend to start again on a regular basis, but thought I'd pop in and say I'm sad that Rafa has gone for non football reasons. Had he had the cash he needed, and done badly, then fair enough, but he didn't, and Matthew, it is not a strong squad, it is a squad with some great players, and a load of shite ones. couple of injuries, and they're knackered. Dalglish is a legend at Liverpol, and was a great great player. However, he is a shockingly bad manager IMO. He did well with a Liverpool team that my mum could have managed, then he went to Blackburn and was bank roled to the title. In any other job, where he's actually had a challenge, he's been rubbish. Not trying to dis the guy, he was and is a great Liverpool man, but as a manager, I think his record definitely flatters to deceive. Anyway, that's my 2p, see you all in another few months.
  9. And no one seemed to notice that the bloke in hospital had been murdered last week.
  10. There have been a few like that. Don't think they believe in science.
  11. My missus last night likened Israel's mindset to that of Millwall. Nobody likes us, we don't care! Made me giggle.
  12. This is depressing, it would seem I have another good 3 years, then it's all dull from then on in.
  13. Missed this week, but have enjoyed this series. Lots of the wealthy parents have gone in thinking "we've worked hard for what we've got, and anyone, with a bit of hard work, can get out of their situation". It's been good to see them realising that life aint like that when you're caught in a rut, een if you work your nuts off. Maye slightly cringy, but some nice moments throughout the series. Last weeks one was great, with a guy who felt too proud to accept handouts. 2 families from different backgrounds, who really seemed to like and respect each other.

    WOMAD Festival?

Tickets booked. I did look in to the posh tents Karter, but to be honest, I think hey're a bit of a rip off, and I have a big f**k off tent anyway ;-) At least it's a weekend away.
  15. Tube runs late enough to get home, I'd do that.
  16. I suspect the BBC approach the party, or at least a particular department, and see who is available. The point was that they wern't going to be told by another party who they culd and couldn't have on, and quite right to!

I did Sydenham to Stratford in 35 minutes the other day. It has made my life much more plesant in the mornings, and saves me a good ?15 a week, which is a bonus.
  18. The really rather worrying thing about last night, is that I found myself agreeing with Pers Morgan a few times!
  19. Do Jah's route, it's easily the quickest. About 15 minutes on London Overground, Forest Hill - Canada Water. About 5 minutes on Jubilee Line, Canada Water - North Greenwich. Plus, as Jah says, you don't go in to Zone 1, so it's cheaper.
  20. What did people think of the Tories refusing to put anyone up against Campbell? Bloody pathetic is my opinion. Shows the strength of their front line, when no one has the guts to debate with a heavyweight.
  21. No, I think it's just that you're having the wrong fantasies.
  22. There is nothing at all wrong with offering help, and it should be encouraged. Hwever, people need to accept with good grace, when a person says "n thanks, I'm all right".
  23. You're probably right, but at the same time, how many people would be likely to decline the offer to play one out in real life?
  24. I fully intend to teach all my children the words to this.
  25. To be fair, I guess they have to prepare you for what could happen. Our daughter had ventouse, and her head was a state, all cut up. See sillywoman, I can stick up for your lot on occasion ;-)
