  1. Er, isn't world class the same as international? ;-)
  2. They've had some great actors throughout IMO, the last 2 killers have both been pretty good in different ways. Shame about the scripts though, but it's still fun enough viewing for a sober Tuesday night.
  3. Karrie, that is a fair point (about how people respond to people refusing help). I work with blind people, and have been told by several that they sometimes accept help they don't really want, because if they don't, they get tutted at, like they are being rude for wanting to be independent.

    Sinus woes

I'd be interested in this too, as my sinus is shocking! Yes I know, not smoking would be a good start, but I'm not after a lecture.
  5. Alas not.
  6. I never realised they made an American version of Life on Mars. If you thought the UK endings were less than convincing, check this out.
  7. Had forgotten that one, and yes, it was an absolute blinder!
  8. Owen's '98 goal Vs Argentina, followed by Gazza's '96 goal against Scotland. Also, whilst probably not the best, has stuck in my mind.
  9. Don't think Walcott is up to it. Maybe he will be in future, Joe Cole used to just run and run until he got tackled, but eventually matured in to a great player. I think Theo could be the same, but at the moment, his great pace just isn't enough IMO. Shame for King last night, didn't look anywhere near his best, and Terry will be confident of keeping his place. I still think Heskey & Rooney up front if it's 4-4-2. As with Liverpool this season, Gerrard just not his old self. Don't know if he's just lost it a bit, or what, but he doesn't look the player he was a season ago. That said, maybe the WC will gee him back in to action...
  10. You people. FFS. There are blind people in Dulwich too, lets start threads about them, as they won't be able to read them*, so we can say whatever we like. We know nothing about this chap, and yet there are assumptions galore on here! I saw him waiting to get in to HSBC last Friday (true), he didn't want help getting in, which could be for several reasons. I have no idea why he wanted to get in to the bank, but it could be because he had a bank account with his own money in it, and he doesn't need to be discussed on here like some sort of freak case study! * Unless they have JAWS or similar on their computer

    WOMAD Festival?

Cool, sounds like it's worth a try then. The last couple of festivals I've been to, I've hardly bothered watching any bands, so it's not as if I'm missing out on seeing some big named act (I can never understand these people that will go to Reading / Glasto, and spend THE WHOLE DAY stood down the front watching the main stage! This does sound like it would be fun, and right up Mrs Keef's street. Assuming it hasn't sold out by pay day, I think I'll get tickets.
  12. Only got round to watching last night. Thought it was very good, but wasn't sure they should have done the whole heaven and hell thing. It seemed to suggest the old Easy path leads to hell, and hard path leads to Heaven. In some ways I thought it was great, and well done, and yes, very sad (Ray hanging himself). But, I did think of sixth sense, and it was rather religious. Then again, there's no real harm in that. Was hoping for a cameo appearance of Sam & Annie in the pub at the end though.
  13. Anyone been or got any opinions. Mrs Keef really fancies it, and has been mentioning it for a few years. Now we have the little one, I am more inclined to give it a try. I do love African music, so that would be a good bit.
  14. Apparently Pac-Man has agreed to compromise on the blood testing issue (agreeing to let them take blood up to 14 days before the fight, which Mayweather had previously offered as a compromise). Fingers crossed this means they'll get it on in November. Manny says he'll have one more fight, and frankly, if that is against anyone other than Mayweather, it will be a horrible "what if" for a long time to come.
  15. You don't need to be representative, you just need to be honest, and honourable. Willing to carry a message, without altering it to your own ends.
  16. I never said I didn't question it, just that there was probably nout to be done about it. At the end of the day though, it's not really that important in the greater scheme of things, and I won't be losing sleep over it.
  17. Sorry Narnia, I'm not really getting your piint about what I've said.
  18. Well just because he has ben banned, and hadn't seemed to have been offensive (there was no one to offend really), so I guess the moderator as made up their mind, and that will be that.
  19. I just got round to reading the nunhead forum thread. Was pleased to see Atila is well. And I think Mikecg is being quite open and honest about what annoyed him, and is just trying to forget about it now, which is fair enough. Must say, I don' know who the moderator is, but s/he seems to have had a bit of a humour bypass. They also seem to have used the excuse that BBW doesn't live in Nunhead, to ban him, which is a petty flimsy case, but I guess he has no right of appeal, so that is that.

    music guitar shops

Nice guys in there, I used to get strings and stuff when I rehearsed at Antenna. Not sure I'd go tere if I was actually looking to buy a guitar, but handy for strings & leads.
  21. An old school friend lived near oxleas woods, and we used t have great fun there on our bikes when we were 11 or 12. There are some great hills for going down at dangerous speeds. That said, had our parents been with us, they'd have probably had heart failier!

    THANKS EDF

Giggirl, you are the forumite that I'd most like to meet in person, and I owe you a drink for those tickets!

    Ask Admin

    Cool, god feature.
  24. I get some of it. Agree with giggirl about the stones these days though.
  25. I think you're quite right, but to be fair, I think there has been some misunderstanding on this thread, as I don't think anyone implied that you're "mad" if you don't have an epidural. I just read that as saying there are no other instances in western medicine where a person would be in great pain, but there is some question as to whether they should have pain relief they want, should they ask for it. If they don't want it, then good for them. I do like a thread that gets a good debate going, but sorry to the OP, if I'm responsible for completely taking your thread off topic. :-$
