  1. Corned beef and Branston pickle on crusty white bread. Beef should be be sliced about 3mm thick, 31/2 maximum. Bread should be a sliced 10 to 11mm. Is it necessary to purchase a spirit-level before attempting this particular creation?
  2. Does anyone know when people started to get lose and loose mixed up?
  3. Its completely irrelevant, but you are aware what Hamas would do to those poor women aren't you?
  4. Yes, but the Israeli Jewish state is not. That was an artificial construction imposed in the region after the second world war by the west, to give the western powers a foothold in the oil rich Arab countries with which they could destablize and divide the Arab world. Err, the UN partitioned Palestine, the same UN whose supposed resolutions you give such importance to. DPF - Just thought as a feminist and supposedly left-ish leaning person, that you would like to know that Israel is one of the lead destination countries for trafficked women. So is the UK.
  5. We are not talking about their neigbours - we are talking about Israel and Palestine. There have been no UN resolutions aimed at Palestine to be breached. Except the one that called on Israel's neighbours to accept the partition of Palestine, which all have refused (except Egypt) to do, which is at the heart of the stalemate over the occupied territories. You are aware that Israel is part of the historical region of Palestine?
  6. There are about 65 UN resolutions aimed at Israel regarding their treatment of the Palestinians - sorry if I can't remember them all, but some condemned Israels illegal settlements of Palestinian land, the huge barrier they have built on Palestinian land anexing huge chunks of it, the killing of Palestinian civillians and more I can't remember off the top of my head - all of which they continue to breach and are never brought to book over because of the power of their US paymasters. I was asking specifically about resolutions telling Israel to give back the land it occupied in 1947. Could you remind me who started that war? Can you tell me how many UN resolutions Israel's neighbours have honoured?
  7. Not just bombing the shit out of them, displacement from their lands in 1947 and continued displacement and land grabbing since to both the Palestinians and neighbouring countries. They breach UN resolutions and countless international laws, but are never brought to book because their good buddies the Americans have the veto on the security council. I think you'll find that Israel hasn't breached any UN resolutions regarding the occupied territories, I bet you can't name the specific resolution/s. You also fail to mention who attacked who in 1947 and why so many Palestinians evacuated the newly formed State of Israel in the early stages of the conflict.
  8. I honestly can't see where Hamas and Israel are going to find any common ground. The aims of Hamas are very different to the IRA as is their willingness to sacrifice their own civilians for what are basically PR reasons.
  9. Well Said. I thank you.
  10. Experienced homeworkers should be ready for action just as the credits roll. Isn't there a risk of overruning into House Doctor? Ann Maurice is a very different proposition to Trisha.
  11. Strikes me you're doing more to support that daftness than I, when all I've ever done is suggest that coming to terms with your enemies in seemeingly intractable conflicts will achieve more than shelling un compunds, sending in the tanks and dropping cluster bombs in built up civilian areas and killing thousands of innocent people (yeah thousands, Lebanon wasn't that long ago). No you didn't, you painted a very biased picture which promoted the "virtues" of Hamas without ever addressing the fact that they are a deeply unpleasant terrorist organisation which wants to destroy its neighbour, a legitimate country mandated by the UN. No doubt you'd have spat at anti-vietnam protestors would you. It being obvious that you couldn't talk to godless communists who wanted nothing less than the destruction of capatalism, and that North Vietnam had to be bombed to the negotiating table. Actually MP my politics are fairly left-wing but based around issues such as; equality, trade unionism, womens rights, social liberalism etc, all things that your buddies at Hamas would remove in a heartbeat. Thats one of the main reasons that I'll often support Israel.
  12. That sums it up pretty nicely.
  13. During Trisha or afterwards?
  14. There's so much misinformationand misunderstanding flying round I actually don't know where to begin, and frankly shouldn't be bothered. Yeah, and a very big chunk of it comes from you....as per usual MP you're lovely but you may want to read a bit more about the birth of Israel, it has very little to do with the holocaust at all. True, it began about 70yrs earlier, mainly as a result of the pogroms in Russia. Still as a result of mass persecution and genocide. And Hamas is fighting for an honorable settlement and have placed pre 67 borders and recognition of Israel on the table a number of times. Israel want surrender as a precondition to negotiations; that wouldn't have gone far with the IRA, why does anyone think Hamas will (hmm, perhaps because the PLO did once they were corrupt enough to stop caring) and so it will continmue again. Now you are entering the realms of fantasy. Hamas has two aims. In the short-term (as you mentioned) it wants to remove Israel from the occupied territories which Israel has always said it would do once its neighbours recognise its sovereignity. In the longer-term it wishes to eliminate Israel and set up an Islamic State throughout the whole of Palestine, Israel understandably isn't too keen on this. As an aside both the EU and the US consider Hamas to be a terrorist organisation rather than a political party so they might not be as cuddly as you are making out. DFP, hilarious. Hamas kill 13 people and they're genocidal. And islamofascism is a word beloved of Bush, I rest my case. Oh, I see what you are doing...very clever, you are suggesting that anyone who is sympathetic to Israel is a right-wing, war mongering neo-con. Well in that case you win smarty pants. When I said genocidal I meant by intent and a quick google of comments made by Hamas leaders will back this up, they will never be interested in co-existing with Israel or jews in general. You must be gutted that they have yet to gain access to the means to put this intent into practise.
  15. Could LegalEagle or AllForNun suggest an appropriate course of action for Israel to take when it's civillians are attacked by genocidal Islamofascists?
  16. So, what you are saying is that children shouldn't be allowed in pubs because it is either in breach of their human rights (the well-behaved ones who are suicidally depressed within 5 mins of entering a licensed premises) or those of the adults (who have to suffer the happy but annoying ones). Parents can't really win with that logic, can they?
  17. Except that you're going to miss the first 10 mins of the England game, and Scotland v NZ won't be shown.
  18. I'm staying faithful to the Pale Ale at Franklins......until something better comes along.
  19. Before you go to war on this, are you sure it wasn't the right paint but it actually looked a slightly different colour to what you anticipated once it was applied. This isn't uncommon. Did you use samples beforehand?
  20. I agree, there are so many other great monikers, such as "norks" and "bristols", that using boobs just seems like a wasted opportunity. As an aside, has there ever been a worse word than gusset?
  21. Why? The majority of kids would rather be inside during breaks.
  22. They reckon they're going to build the new school in 10 months, seems a bit ambitious. Have also heard that once (if) the school becomes oversubscribed that it will become selective, like Haberdashers and the Crystal Palace Academy.
  23. Well thats Louisa, the only things she has ever spoken positively about on this board are a paedophile and a dangerous dog.
  24. You actually believe that she's been in there?
