  1. I'm out on the booze in ED tonight - I may well give the Drum a go.
  2. I shall make a point of visiting when they reopen. Let's hope it doesn't take them too long. Best of luck to you, Dan, if you somehow end up reading this.
  3. I can hear the ED residents' howls of anguish from here. Oh, wait, no. That's just the school playground round the corner.
  4. A sausage-eating contest sponsored by William Rose perhaps?
  5. I've never been, but I've heard from someone who has that the food ranges from not-all-that to pretty bad, but that the booze more than makes up for it and is always great.
  6. I like chopsticks but it's a bit hit and miss. The good stuff is great but the bad stuff is just awful. For instance the chicken in cashew nuts is... well, words fail me (in a bad way). But the crispy lamb in plum sauce is good. Actually, now that I think about it the quality does seem to be decreasing gradually as time goes by... I don't really like Wagamama's though.
  7. I've often thought that it seemed like a creepy place. Note that it's next door to an undertaker's, and it seems that its customers are without exception extremely aged.
  8. I hear he's more of a B man.
  9. Hmm... handbagging eh? Better make sure I've got my wide-angle lens in order to capture the action.
  10. What, all flailing about without ever making contact?
  11. Good lord. The spectre of an EDF Revue rears its ugly head.
  12. I like 'fizzing my bunghole' and shall adopt it with immediate effect. I can already picture ways in which I could employ it. Hm, yes. I know we've used this freelancer before, but frankly she just doesn't fizz my bunghole. Let's pan her and outsource it to Bangalore.
  13. I can picture it now: blue... wet bit... bit wet here, too... fishy... here be dragons.
  14. Are you, by any chance, a disgruntled cartographer?
  15. Depends where you are. If you're in EC4 then location isn't that important. Walk a few steps in any direction and you're sure to find one.
  16. Last time I saw him (on the telly) he'd grown a rather large beard. So, to tell whether your slap left a mark or not you'd first have to shave him. But that could also be sponsored.
  17. I haven't tried Sema, but of the other two I prefer the Pavillion because the food is generally better. The Thai Corner Cafe has a nice atmosphere, but the whole 7.30/9.30 thing I find really awkward. One's too early and the other's too late. Yes, Pavillion's a bit more expensive, but we don't have thai all that often and I think, given the quality of the food, that it's worth it. (I've never eaten in there, mind. Only ever had stuff delivered.)
  18. If you let me know when you plan to do it I'll make sure to be there with a camera. :)
  19. I went for a walk from the top of Dog Kennel Hill down to Pekcham Rye the other evening. Some of the places, on Grove Park etc, look incredibly posh.
  20. I'd just like a proper Italian with a menu that goes beyond pasta and pizza.
  21. What a good idea.
  22. You cracked, didn't you? Paid the ransom. You'll only encourage more kidnappings, you know.
  23. Nah. Pizza Express has only two highchairs and the one next door is simply awful. They're of limited appeal to the ED crowd.
  24. I don't know, I quite liked "thrusting inhabitants" myself.
