  1. I saw, erm, a bloke. Off the telly. Oldish. Comedian I think. White hair, black eyebrows. Oh dear. I'm not very good at this.

*quietly sips that kids-are-in-bed-at-last glass of wine*
  3. DM, you've been well and truly lounged.

    Hello?

This might explain why he's not back yet.

    Quiet room...

There were some mothers there today who looked a touch too well put together for just a trip down to the swings. Not that I'm complaining, you understand. But it made me smirk a little at the same time.

    Hello?

I was there too, Ko. Along with everyone else from miles around, it seems. To be honest, it was all a bit much for me. I just wanted a quiet, relaxing walk. Instead I got caught up in crowdaggeddon at the swings.

Ha! How strange to think having a large bag is unique. I defy you to find a mother who doesn't lug a giant bag around stuffed with wipes, humzingers, rice cakes, used tissues, sun cream, an umbrella, an old nappy one size too small envelopped in a crumpled nappy sack, half a pack of triple x mints from 1994 and the flap from page 4 of the library copy of Spot's Birthday, etc.

    Hello?

Was he watching it down the pub? Somehow I suspect he's more of a corporate-box type of chap. But a 10am start in order to nab a good spot in the boozer is not unheard of. Perhaps a tad extreme though.

    Hello?

Where on earth is everyone? It's been dead quiet here this weekend. Don't tell me you've all gone off and got a social life at the same time. Anyone?
  10. Pfeh. Their vente skinny mochafrappaslappacrappachinos with caramel sprinkles have never really done it for me.

Hardly surprising what with the multitudes swarming around. Though I wouldn't have recognised you even if I did see you given your photoless online anonymity. Were you one of the yummier mummies on parage?

*sips restorative tea* *feels memories of the playground hullabaloo fade away* All out in the park, judging by the crowds I have just witnessed there. There's nary a swing to be had let me tell you.
  13. Ha! This thread's been lounged. (Just enjoying using my new word. Carry on everyone.)

    Quiet room...

*opens one eye, peers with some malevolence at the loud thinker over in the corner, closes eye, resumes previous supine position and returns to slumbering behind a copy of a newspaper that might rustle, should it move, but that does not move, not even a little bit, no matter how long you sit and stare at it in the conviction that it must, soon, surely, fall to the floor*

    A prediction

Dear DM, You have only to peer a little closer at the first post in this thread and all shall be clear. And of course, being the gent wot I am, I shall henceforth desist from discussing your assets. Scout's honour.

    *creak* Sorry. New shoes.
  17. Maybe it was a typo and the intended name was Crazy Norse, which might explain the viking-like tendency to bellow.

I can foresee a time when a new meaning of the verb 'to lounge' arises on our fair forum, meaning the occasion of a thread being deemed frivolous and being sent to the lounge. "Eh, what happened to that thread about milk rounds up the library end that turned into a benny hill sketch about dulwichmum's boobs?" "Oh, that. It got lounged."
  19. And you, DM, are an incorrigible flirt.
  20. Yes, the thread title was a bit shouty.
  21. Exactly, that's when the fun starts. /clap clinic regular (not really, mind.)
  22. Oh yes, funky munky's v good. Is Bar Story open late?
  23. I usually end up watching that programme in, shall we say, an uncharitable manner. Common phrases to be heard include: har har, more money than sense! Ho! Should have listened to the advice, shouldn't they? That'll learn 'em. Etc. I wonder whether living on the same street will make any difference this time.
  24. Love: That LL can support a mix of shops. Iceland, Somerfield, SMBS, Cheese Block and the EDD all have their roles to play, and long may that continue. And Farmer's rocks. Plus there are still lods of places I've yet to explore, which is a bonus. Hate: Hm... lack of a men's clothes shop, I suppose. And the reamining boarded-up shops are a shame.
