  1. I should make it up to the plough later Jah if you like.
  2. "[Killer 7] was a preciously unique amusing cartoon whale in an ocean of second-hand bong water."
  3. I can do series 3 if you like Jah.
  4. great discussion, to add to Nero's original point i read this post by a linguist last month on hyperforeignism And I say 'bowling' very weirdly
  5. The 'wanted, offered and recommended' section seems to more or less suffice for this, or of course anyone can sponsor the forum should they so choose.
  6. but that'll be three for the mag, surely many need the itinerant lushness that is the forum to visit them. the rye, the old nunhead, inside 72...
  7. Don't dishearten, Brixton and Clapham both good nights out, I just can't be arsed with either of them any more. come on, aren't there some younger, less slipper like people with advice on here?
  8. Really, you've been given the cold shoulder? very unforum drinks!! I won't ask for names but I shall be taking to task goddamit!!
  9. Really? West Ham losing isn't much call for comment, especially in something described as the dullest match of the season. We settled for 10th ages ago, and hopefully we won't lose out to Spurs, but both are blowing very hot and cold, so it's both team's to lose frankly.
  10. Loads of bars up in clapham, but see my earlier post for my changing attitudes towards most of them. Still I got my 15 year old step brother into revolution (or whatever the ersatz russian vodka bar is called) and he could barely believe it. I had to point out that in clapham it doesn't occur to bouncers that you might be underage, as long as you're not causing trouble. Green & Blue for a pre bar tipple? Some ok pubs there though. http://fancyapint.com/area/00702.html
  11. I don't normally do animal shots, but this from fatmandy is just so menacing!
  12. Haven't been for years. Loved it when I first moved to london, but then I was a lot younger and took drugs and danced like a loon. Last time I went all I could think was how poor the bar service was and the cocktails weren't very good, and how it was too loud to have a good chat. I suggest give it a go, it can do no harm and as fractionater says, you can always head up the road if it's sh!t. *shuffles off in slippers*
  13. Good shout regards the penalty Keef. But honestly, what the hell did Toure think he was doing?! If it wasn't one (and i'd say it was a bit iffy yet highly giveable) then he was darn well asking for one. As I said last time best thing for me was Walcott as a prospect and last night reinforced that. El Pais drew other plus points, they're getting very excited about Torres, and El Pais compares him to the 'elegant Ian Rush' today.
  14. "Made in China" ever the issue with boycotts Celine, a toughy indeed.
  15. I don't think that's a societal stance as such, I think people are basically happy to have a march but will still take advantage of the cheap goods from dodgy working practices and/or iffy regimes. Sure keep pushing the point home, I'd encourage people to shrug less often and think more about how you spend your money. Or shrug and don't.
  16. Sporting boycotts have had success in the past and were arguably more potent against apartheid than the half-hearted economic boycotts, but I can't see it having much of an effect on China, it'll all end up as a real embarrassment for the CCP but thye'll soldier on regardless. As Snorks said, you can highlight the indentured (often child) labour that makes the ?1.99 t-shirts too good to be true all you want, but Primark still seem to be making a healthy profit. Likewise China thrives thanks to the the desire for cheap labour, many of it from the big consumer manufacturers who rushed to open factories there over the last decade. Continued growth (here) through spending relies on two things, cheap goods (through cheap labour) and cheap available credit. The latter ain't going to happen much for a little while and the former will suffer in years to come as pressure on the dollar (down) and the yuan (up) as well as improved standards of living means even China is going to have to start looking elsewhere. It all feels a bit unsustainable if you ask me. An olympic boycott by Britain may send out a strong political message, but it'll make absolutely no difference to our final medal tally ;-)
  17. Some just went because the board got all greedy. Johnson, Carrick and so on. We'd done our fire sale and they didn't have to go and hadn't requested to go, which made it all the more depressing.

  19. Yeah, we're not doing well at hanging on to players, I fear for Newton. Every time we get someone good, someone like Fergie 'expresses an interest' which can have a horribly unsettling effect on someone, as we saw in the Reo-Coker episode. Pity, the boy's got talent, but I don't want anyone in the side who doesn't want to be there. Newton's more mature, but it feels like only a matter of time before someone will make an offer the board won't refuse. Our biscuit magnate didn't hang around long either. ...and because I can't help my pedantry, I think Lampard was in the senior squad too. Whatever happened to the likes of Newton (Adam) and Iriekpen, who looked pretty good in that side too.
  20. I was at that game too quids. Joe Cole's showboating still sticks in the mind. Marvellous stuff. 9-0 on aggregate I believe.
  21. Indeed, sorry I didn't talk to you nearly enough DC, but great to finally meet you.
  22. 'tis a beautiful thing to behold sure. Which one's getting pregnant? Or was that a hoax?
  23. Gobi desert here. lovely to see you, though all too briefly, too mlteenie, absolutely adore your accent!!! Did I mention I'm not proper posh, I've no stables you know?
  24. *pours dulwichmum a nice Margaux found in Jah's wine cellar* there there dulwichmum, it's all alright *wonders if it was that invoice that broke the camel's back* *wonders if Brendan has been possessed*
