  1. Why does that annoy you ;-)
  2. no probs, you've probably kicked off a fresh new debate anyhoo, some topics never get old here. Kids in pubs, buggies on the lane, foxtons, foxes, cats with bells on, class war....
  3. Uzi lover - Fur Q
  4. looking that way http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,56916,page=1 http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,47130,page=1
  5. racial_ist, special_ist, social_ist? etc Jah?
  6. phew.. aaaanyway, got this today t'second hand store as I'd heard their name bandied about a bit. It's terrific, and they're obviously fans of My Bloody Valentine. Here's one of their poppier moments Asobi Seksu* - Thursday *and yes sensei, someone translated that for me
  7. ...Tony Blair. Please just f**k off now alright?!
  8. Back in the proto-mobile phone dark ages (1994?), when I was an editorial assistant on Connexion magazine, the editor was late as he'd witnessed an accident. A small crowd had gathered and someone pulled out a chunky cell phone and started talking about this terrible accident he'd seen. When people obviously clicked and said "why the hell aren't you phoning an ambulance?" his face fell and he was forced to come clean that it was a fake. What a tw@t!!! We couldn't stop laughing when Ken got back and told us the tale though!
  9. To post an image right click (or whatever the mac equivalent is, apple click?) on the image in question and select properties. This will bring a little pop up with its info. Then come to the forum and select the image url button above the text box where you normally post. It's the one with the hills and sun. Then paste the image's path off the properties there, make sure you have the full path beginning with http:// or ftp:// If it's a file on your computer then do an attachment as per normal then click on your attachment once its up and do exactly as above, or of course put it on a hosting site like flickr. Flickr actually provides you with all the code to put photos up on sites, complete with the links, attribution and mouse overs. Another room in the lounge. Sheesh. Thought it might be a nice place to share photos for those into photography or who just like great photos. I know we have flickr for this sort of thing, but what the hey, not everyone's a flickrite are they. I'll kick it off with this, by the chap who first inspired me to take photography more seriously, a canadian by the name of Sam. I've watched his interest and enthusiasm and skill grow in a parabola roughly 2 years ahead of mine, and he continues to do so. If I have a 5D and a 100mm f2.8 in a couple of years time, I'll be very happy :) Mind you if I'm taking pictures of snow in london I'll be pleasantly surprised as it does seem to be avoiding us these past years. Ooh, and try to link back to appropriate sites with attribution where possible
  10. errr...is that often said to you? :-/
  11. I have seen a chap walk over to a girl on the train, pluck the phone out of her hand and throw it out of the window. She was rightly shocked and yes, it was wrong, but when looking around for support all she saw were approving glances, including mine.
  12. Oh totally agree Jah!! They were something of a comedy act for us growing up.
  13. "People answering the phone by saying "Go". " I've not heard that, but that's horrible!!! Spaniards answer the phone by going "speak!" which I've always thought rather brusque, but it's very normal and not rude there. As for the last point, totally with you on that.
  14. Ha ha, Fields of The Nephilim. I wasn't aware anyone else had even heard of them!! Stevenage boys, the poor things.
  15. Ha ha, Mrs Mockney got bits off them yesterday afternoon. She even tipped them a couple of bottles of beer leftover from new years. I told her it was a scam, she shrugged, said 'they work hard in the freezing cold and were nice and polite. And if they don't see the cash themselves at least they got some beer for their trouble'. And with that she seemed content. I couldn't argue with that.
  16. I and the missus may come, but will stick to the mango lassis (I speak only for myself of course).
  17. A couple more Fiery Furnaces numbers. I love this brother and sister outfit's eccentricities. The first track is more straightforward than most of their music but has a real Zep feel in the basis and the organ, lovely. To quote Plant in that queue that time "It's a little bit Physical Graffiti". (Now I'm the git, a name-dropping one at that). Anyway....I digress..... Second one is them being curiously poppy. Duplexes of the Dead Tropical Ice-land
  18. perhaps we could hire someone to patrol the local establishments to keep them in line
  19. If you stop little Tarquin punching babies and throwing tantrums then you're just suppressing his creative urges and possibly contributing to his future therapy bills as he's taken back to the Oedipal issues brought on by an overbearing control figure in the father and the bosom of the mother that quietens the tears. Do you want that on your conscience, well, do you?
  20. I think that's my main issue with it too!!
  21. Men, we're just not cut out for worrying about ourselves except in a general 'woe is me low' level hypochondria that we never act upon. No wonder we don't live as long as women!!
