  1. actually that would have to be ?6 I guess. What was the answer btw?
  2. It really isn't very far. I live nearby and 80% of the time it's quicker for me to walk to lordship lane (and home*) than wait for a bus. Walk will do you good!! *though Mrs mockney and I have been known to get a cab home as we spill out one of the LL pubs at 1 in the monring, a criminal waste of money!!!
  3. Will echo Sean's summary, atmosphere wise it's one of the best games I've watched; but it does have more in common with film than it does with game. As an fps it's never challenging, and though they've tried to steer you toward creative combined use of the plasmids (left trigger, spells basically) and weapons (right trigger, usual fare), you generally just end up setting the baddies on fire then blasting them with a shotgun. It's so beautifully rendered and the attention to detail is awesome. It makes a 1940s, art deco world existing under the ocean to a django reinhart soundtrack, utterly believable. Strong story well presented too. If you've played the Biohocks (yep Sean, System Shocks) and Deus Ex you'll have an idea; it feels like the former and plays like the latter. *edited for about a billion typos*
  4. It's genuine. Well, at the very least it's from her office, can't guarantee authorship though. A bit like the Osbournes thread there I guess.
  5. clock ticking ... tick-tock tick-tock wish I was somewhere else, somewhere beautiful and dreamy, perhaps with cute icelandic twin sisters.... M?m - We Have a Map of the Piano (live)
  6. A top quote Jah. Yes (Prime?) Minister wasn't it? Not alot has changed in 25 years has it? Apart from maybe the morning star bit. The daily mail reporting "news" in ways only the Mail could British moustaches built the empire and important news on that Diana inquest
  7. Everybodies favourite hippy after Neil Neil Orange Peel; and somebody's holiday snaps it would seem. Devendra Banhart - Quedateluna
  8. Every computer game I've ever played tells me that the future starts with a "devastating war" followed by endless corridors of people throwing themselves idiotically at my blazing guns. I'll make do with walkie-talkies in a world where people are STILL driving MkI Escorts. Obviously the internet is for EDF Brendan, whatever could you be alluding to?
  9. Ooh, that's more like Sleeper. Now for the orgasmatron....
  10. The Nash album feels somewhat rushed, half those songs really shouldn't have made it on there, like the appropriately named "sh!t song", but I still like it (and she's sooo cute). But she seems really down to earth that she's a bit of fresh air after the antics of the ever tedious behatted ones amy and pete "please please do us a favour and overdose" doherty. Yeah the mockney thing does jar a bit, but who am I to criticise innit? My conclusions on Radiohead are that the critics will probably rave about it, but I doubt I'll be playing it again, and there's nothing on there that you and dems will be playing at open mic any time soon.
  11. Beirut - Elephant Gun Is it just me or does Zach Condon look juuussst a leeetle bit like Hiro in Heroes?
  12. Has anyone got the new Beirut album? I know I want to buy it but something's holding me back. He's playing live at the roundhouse in November if anyone's interested.
  13. I get train to victoria, one of the lines to earls court, picadilly the rest of the way. Grinning and bearing it is also needed for this route, and give yourself an hour and a half. Cabs waste of money and Heathrow Express is the most expensive transport journey (cost/duration) in the world apparently, but alternatives are all a right royal pain frankly. City airport far and away my favourite if it's ever feasible.
  14. Feet feeling much better now thanks. Man upstairs has no interest me I'm afraid; I believe the term is 'heathen'.
  15. I suspect I put too much Dragon's Blood in my dinner last night.
  16. too late for this, but what the hell................... Deep Purple - Space Trucking Yeeeeahhhhh
  17. I'm just going to embalm my feet in vinegar if thats ok * splish* mmmmmmmmm
  18. Greaves was a great no doubt, just before my time is all (apart from Saint & Greavsie). While I'm on the subject I still have a place in my heart for bonkers ref-pushing, dubious saluting, sporting, amazing goal scoring Paolo di Canio. All time great, perhaps not, but he is to me!!
  19. "thank him for the best footballing talent I've witnessed in my 50 years on this planet." A marvel he was, but I still think for me* a couple of players I hold in greater (if inconsistent) esteem**, your very own Bergkamp, (yeah shoot me down) a certain Monsieur Le Tissier, and of course Tony Cottee***. * can't really speak for pre 1980 ** well, england league wise, I leave world cup greats aside as we saw them oh so rarely *** joking!!!! sort of
  20. I'm not sure why, but Rod's croaky tones put me in mind of two things. Firslty was do you think I'm sexy, the second was Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. you'll be happy to know I went with the latter Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Cheating Hearts btw, when my mate worked for GMTV and was on location in Dubai killing some time playing footie on the beach, they were approached by Rod Stewart of all people who joined in, was a bit nifty with the ball and a thoroughly nice guy by all accounts!!
  21. The good old Register, highlighting the earth shaking stories of the day. Amazon's spiderman watch search facility thinking of wrong sort of spider, and my personal favourite reason for selling car, misunderstanding the missus apparently.
  22. Home game on tuesday for the Hamlets while we're on the subject. Anyone up for a Hornchurch away trip in the FA cup on saturday, back in time for the rugger?
  23. I can't believe that wasn't world news!! Marvellous.
  24. Come on, a big white, red, red'n'white* and claret'n'blule hug people. Aaaaaaaaaaaaah *Are arsenal still purple, or have they wisely ditched their centenary affectation? Only ecru is worse as keef and I know to our chagrin!!
